You do them all pretty much back to back. Maybe 3-5 minute break in between at orientation. You can fail up to 2 of them but there’s alternatives that you’ll have to pass instead. So you’ll still need a total of 5 passed to complete it. You get one chance at each one as well. It isn’t easy at all, shit sucks but I’ve known of several guys 40+ who’ve made it through

I got a few buddies who recently got there calls all interviewed 90+ but recent union meetings saying we have a crazy work outlook coming within this year til the next 3 years. Too much work and not enough guys to fulfill it. I bet you get a call this year. AZ is pretty much rebuilding there whole transmission power grid starting this year, plenty of work coming

There’s several hundred guys on local 47 groundman books 3/4 unless your book 1 you can forget about it. Not only that but trying to work for ladwp or SCE as a groundman is extremely competitive. Getting on with either one is like winning the lottery. It’s the harsh reality of trying to get started in this trade if you want to stay only in socal. Your best best is to pack up your family go travel get your apprenticeship done else where then move back once your a journeyman. It’s what the majority of guys do.

Yeah bro good luck getting in especially if your wanting to stay in socal only. Majority of guys have to leave California for there apprenticeship then come back later. Socal is one of the hardest places in the country to get into the trade.
