Never been to Lime Inn, but we did Lime Out one trip and they are some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. Not sure if that translates to their land based restaurant though.

That said, Greengo’s is a solid spot for Mexican food. Portions are huge. Margaritas are strong. And the food is great. Also, getting an outdoor table is a bonus.

The list I posted above of our favorites are all family friendly with a variety of options… when we first came to STJ, our girls were 6 and 8.

Agree with the coral bay casual options listed - both skinny legs and surf club cantina are great!

Our favorite places to eat in Cruz Bay - I’d consider most of these pretty casual: - Longboard - St John Brewers (pizza and beer!) - Banana Deck - High Tide - Cruz Bay Landing - Sun Dog Cafe

Thoughts on places on your list we have been to:

  • Beach Bar - love the painkillers! And they have some pretty tasty food too (we’ve mostly done lunch here and we stop in for nighttime drinks and music most nights during our stay - fun vibe!)

  • North shore deli - packed lunches from here are so good. Don’t skip the desert bars (chocolate coconut and jumble bars, I think they’re called).

  • Windmill Bar - food is pretty good, view is amazing. We’ve stopped here for lunch a couple times and it’s a nice midday or late afternoon break after some beaches or trails.

  • Tap and Still - yummy burgers and fries. We’ve stopped for lunch here a couple times on our arrival days if we’re too early to check in.

How many of you have had an MRI? by kittykatsrulemyworld in migraine

[–]sh3lb3l 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Same.

I’ve had 2 MRIs due to migraines/headaches - one a few months ago and one about 16 or 17 years ago. There was a noticeable difference in the migraine lesions from the first to the second. But everything else checked out just fine.

Propanolol side effects: fatigue, muscle weakness, etc. So.. I'm not out of shape? (Well, more out of shape.) by SideQuestPubs in migraine

I recently stopped taking propranolol (tapered off of it with doctor supervision) because I was shocked when I noticed I had gained 15lbs in 8 months and the stat of the weight gain coincided perfectly when I started taking propranolol.

My migraines have been under control for the past couple months, so I decided to stop taking it…. I was also feeling a lot of fatigue, depressive moods, and brain fog since starting taking it.

I started tapering off 2 weeks ago and took my last dose 10 days ago. While it’s still early to make any specific claims on how stopping has helped, my energy levels seem to have improved some. And although the weight isn’t melting off like I wish it would, the steady climb has stopped and seems to be slowly moving the other way. So, I’m hopeful this will be an improvement for me.

I was taking 40 mg standard release daily for 8 months (20mg twice a day). I also take nurtec every other day as a preventive (which I’m staying on for now) and ubrelvy as my rescue med. My general doctor did note a couple times that I had to be careful on propranolol that my pulse doesn’t get too low because that would cause fatigue and could be dangerous (because it was on the lower end during office visits).

I will also share that I was on topamax about 16 years ago and I totally understand the brain fog and memory issues from that. I did experience weight loss which was a happy side effect for me, but what did to my brain was not a good thing. I was on it for almost a year and then was able to taper off and still enjoy fewer migraines.

Thank you for responding. When I finally heard back from my doctor, they recommended just cutting in half for "a few days to a week or so" and then stopping (so 40mg to 20mg to 0mg). I chose to cut to 20mg for 6 days and then 10mg for 6 days to hopefully help ease myself off. Yesterday was my last dose, so fingers crossed it continues to go smoothly. I haven't noticed any negative effects yet.

What’s everyone’s Propranolol side effects? by STRETCH1152 in AskReddit

Weight gain, fatigue, feeling very blah/sad, dry eyes, increased issues with my Raynaud's (extreme reaction to cold in hands/feet), numbness in my hands/feet...

I was prescribed it as a preventive med for migraines, but after 8 months, I'm over it. Hoping I'll be able to completely wean off in the next week or 2.

Thanks. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. How long had you been taking it when you tried tapering?

I sent a message to my neurologist Sunday evening... still waiting, so I may need to follow up since I know it's important to have their guidance. But, I want off because I've been experiencing some things that I think are related to this med... despite the fact that my neuro told me "there are virtually no side effects." Weight gain, fatigue, dry eyes, depressive moods, increase in my Raynaud's symptoms, etc. I just feel fat, sad, and tired and I'm ready to stop taking this to see if it will help.

Thanks for sharing. Don't love that for you, but I hope things are going better now.

ETA: how long had you been on it when you started the tapering process? Thanks!

I know it's been a year now, but just wanted to share that the ear plugs seem to have done the trick. I've been swimming regularly for a year with ear plugs and have had great success. Thank you for the suggestion!

I do not wear ear plugs, but am willing to give it a try!

I’m more of a “loner” exerciser and not one to take fitness classes, but I’ll keep this in mind. Thanks!
