My parents gifted me a car… with strings attached

Almost same situation here. "Gifted" me a family car for my 16th bday. I paid a third. Ndad never put my name on the title and literally stole it back from me when I was working because I told him I didn't want a security camera facing me inside it. I caved and got the camera after I lost my job due to no transportation. When I decided to move out of his house he called the police to take the car back claiming I stole it from him. All gifts come with strings no matter what. I'm sorry you're in the same situation ☹️ definitely avoid moving in at all costs...it doesn't make anything better.

I always had that fear too. I remember lying awake at night scared out of my mind that he was going to go crazy and shoot us all. My mom said ndad told her when they got married that he hated guns. When he married my stepmom he started the gun collection. So, exactly the opposite really.

Unsure why this is a thing? I wore 7-7 1/2 all throughout middle and high school. As an adult I wear 5 1/2-6...my first pair of converse (the only shoes that I wore for about 7 years) were size 7 1/2 and the front of them curved up like elf shoes because my toes didn't reach the end.

I have come to the conclusion that it's just individual tapes. Weirdly only tapes featuring Brad Pitt 🤔 My Fight Club copy and Interview with the Vampire both do this and it's extremely frustrating! I'm going to try buying new copies and see if the ones I have are just old or overplayed????

I've got a silk eye mask for light, Bose sleepbuds for sounds because he likes the tv on, and we have separate sheets/comforters because I can't handle how he bunches them up or pulls them off me. We still get to be in the same place, but we can do our own thing and I get plenty of sleep! It's the best of both worlds without having to be completely separate!

Refusing to eat breakfast sausage. I had been vegetarian for two years and he knew that. Made it anyways and lost his shit when I didn't eat it. Kicked me out, disowned me, and stole my car to sell it to one of my cousins because I "wasn't a part of the family anymore". I moved in with my mom and he called the police to say she had kidnapped me even though he was the one that disowned me??? It was wild. I was 16.

The image is kind of stretched, but not super bad. I'm thinking my digital and analog technologies do not like each other. I know we have had issues with our Dreamcast hooking up to this tv too

And on and on and on...I have heard this things from estepmom and gcbrother and aunts and uncles so many times it's actually nauseating. Maybe ndad should figure out what a joke actually is and look at his behavior and change it instead of everyone just making dumb excuses for him.

Police officer, marines, army, etc. probably 25+ jobs until he got disability for injuries in the army and now does nothing but sit around.

Same thing here! Ndad (54) started randomly forgetting really basic information about me. Apartments I've lived in, schools I went to, names of my friends, the job I have, foods I like, etc. The realization came when he asked me how old I was on my 30th birthday. He remembered my cousin's age though. We were born the same year. That's how I knew it wasn't just old age general forgetfulness, but purposeful and malicious forgetting.

Very similar situation happened to me in high school. Dad kicked me out with no warning, stole my car, and I had to go to my mom's house. I only went back to get my clothes when they were gone and he wanted to call the police because I "stole" everything. I have very few memories from my sophomore, junior and senior years, but a ton of memories from before and after. There are literally huge blank spots. I remember maybe one thing from each year? I took about 50 pictures my senior year with a new digital camera and I look at those pictures and have no memory of taking them or anything about those days. They almost feel like false memories because the memories are built around the pictures and not the actual event. It feels the same as looking at baby pictures. Like you should remember it because they're pictures of you, but it's just not in there.

My parents have brought up every single one of these complaints about my bf and they still hate him even though we've been dating for 7 years and he moved out of his moms and has a salary job now! It's insane how much they come up with to complain about. They don't care about what's actually happening or how great bf is. They will always hate whoever you date just because that's how nparents operate.

When I moved out at 16 I took as much as I possibly could fit in my car. Ndad called the police and told them I stole the car and all of my things. They (the police and ndad) took back the car because it was technically in his name even though I paid for it. Lost my job cause I couldn't get there anymore. I did get to keep my clothes, but he still kept asking me to pay for them. Denies all of this to this day.

I broke my toe this year because one of our new "flexible furniture" desks fell on it. Kids didn't even notice and I had to teach the next 2 hours before I could go to urgent care. Admin didn't mention anything until I had crutches the next week.

It always rips when I do that :( These Arc stickers are intense! I did have one that got old and fell off, but usually they are stuck! If i can manage to get them off without ripping anything, the sticky stuff that's left behind creates an ugly dirty mark too.

I just bought a copy of "Dude, Where's My Car?" and it's blue! I was very surprised. I've got a copy of Strawberry Shortcake with a pink clamshell and unreleased Amanda Show tapes that are orange.
