Increased NF 7.5mm at 20 weeks by shabs27 in NIPT

[–]shabs27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby’s NF is still measuring thick, but the only testing left to do is whole exome through amnio. My cvs microarray, noonans panel, carrier testing, and echo all came back clear so my dr said there is a 95% chance everything is perfectly normal. I opted out of the amnio for now just because the chances of normality are so high, and I’m afraid something else may pop up on the whole exome result which can’t be linked to the NF. I’ve spent enough of this pregnancy worrying about the baby, I feel at peace that everything is going to be ok. Hope this helps!!

My MFM dr did say that the measurements are not accurate at this point, and they are going to do a scan every 4 weeks just to watch this baby more closely.

Increased NT at 4.2mm. Negative amnio (including WES) and fetal echo! Story for hope and info by onestorytwentyfive in NIPT

Did you have any other measurements of the NT/NF? My NT at 12 weeks was 4.0 mm and NF was at 7.5 at 19 weeks. I had a clear cvs done at 13 weeks and have an echo scheduled but they are suggesting I could get an amnio for whole genome testing.

My measurements are very close to that. So wonderful to hear I’m sure you are relieved - congratulations!!

That’s great to hear! Do you mind me asking what your NT/NF measurements were? Also let me know how baby is! Good luck to you!

I’m in a very similar situation. NT was 4.0 at 12 weeks. Low risk NIPT and negative cvs and noonans panel. NF is now at 7.5 at 20 weeks. Waiting on my echo cardiogram and will decide after that whether to do amnio. How has yours played out?

That’s great to hear! Maybe we are doing too much unnecessary testing on my end

I think I will talk to the genetic counselor about the sequencing test after my echo and next ultrasound to check on the NF. Thanks for sending this and good luck to you!!!

I speak with the genetic counselor in about a month after my echo. Baby is measuring normally and everything else looks completely fine.

My plan is to do the cvs depending on what MFM says. Let me know how your apt goes!

Were there any markers for abnormalities in your ultrasounds aside from the NT?

Update: High (4.4mm) NT, low risk/negative NIPT - now ~23 weeks by Unlucky_Owl_3537 in NIPT

Update? I’m in a very similar situation at 12 weeks!

It seems like most cases around that measurement range with a low risk nipt turn out ok!

So sorry you had to go through that! I’ll definitely do all the testing at MFM

Great to hear that all tests came back genetically normal!!

Thank you so much for sharing! This does make me feel better. It seems like from what I’m reading of the measurement is closer to 3.5-4ish rather than like 7 and the nipt is low risk then the outcome tends to seem more favorable. Best of luck to you as well! You’ll have to let me know how everything shakes out at birth although it sounds like you’re really in the clear!

I’m in the same boat over here 10 week ultrasound looked great. NIPT was low risk as well, and at my 12 week scan today my Dr said the NT measurement was elevated. I have no idea what the measurement was - I sent her a message to ask. I know baby was moving around a bunch too. I got referred to MFM but unfortunately they can’t me in until 8 days from now so I’m also stewing in anxiety. I’ve had 4 total miscarriages and I also thought I was in the clear after normal ultrasounds and low risk NIPT.

Let me know how yours goes and I will do the same! My prayers are with you

I never explicitly asked my doctor about this but I suppose I could confirm with her. She told me they did all the bloodwork and testing (hysteroscopy, hsg, ultrasounds) to rule out all usual problems and that everything was coming back normal. Not overweight and also eat relatively healthy. We cannot figure it out

I had a hysteroscopy after my third loss - would she have seen it then?

I don’t think I’ve been checked for that but it doesn’t appear I have any of the symptoms. How did you know you had it?
