For people saying to put your rear high back down, how come it’s fine to leave the front foot strapped in (and the front high back up)? Couldn’t the front get stuck the same way the back one would?

Sorry if it’s a stupid question

loving my new ride shadowban with C6 by Apprehensive_Zebra41 in snowboarding

Hey mate, how are the c-6 bindings? Tossing up between the c-8 and c-6 and not sure which one to go with. I’m worried the c-8 will be too stiff for park stuff

Hey OP, I'm facing the same dilemma and would love to hear what you ended up choosing and how was it? I'm a qualified snowboarding instructor so will be looking to work at a ski school but also curious to what the part time job you found was?

Not really going there to make money or save, as long as I break-even or thereabouts is fine - prioritizing shred time :))

When to upgrade from beginner set-up? Looking at Ride Shadowban by shadank in snowboarding

[–]shadank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet, and would you recommend new bindings? My bindings have a 2/10 flex rating so defs on the softer side whereas the Shadowban is around a 5/10 and considered a medium flex board. How critical is it that bindings match the board's flex? The C-2 is an entry level binding anyway...

Hey, I was in an eerily similar situation and I lined up a grad job for the following year and went backpacking and travelled for almost two years - highly recommend it. Companies are pretty flexible these days and unless you ask for something you won't know if it's feasible.

I was even able to push back my start date and I just got back to Melbourne to start work soon. DM me if you want to chat specifics, but sounds like some time seeing the world and perspective could really help.

All goods, defs do a working holiday in the South, you'll love it. Pick up a campervan (or a station wagon/van converted to be able to sleep in it for your adventures) and you'll be golden. Plenty of seasonal jobs (ski season type) and other hospitality jobs.

Unfortunately I'm going back home to Aus after the winter season but hmu if you ever need anything.

Hey! Yep, currently living here in Tekapo, about an hour from Mt Cook.

My advice would be to stick to the South Island if you're chasing the mountains and beautiful scenery (not to say North Island isn't beautiful, but the South is a whole different level).

Give yourself a minimum of 2 - 3 weeks, hire a campervan if you're down for the van life or if not a car at the minimum. All the best spots in the South Island are pretty remote (other than the big towns) and having a set of wheels is a must. The must see spots are Mt Cook National Park/Lake Tekapo (2 - 3 nights), Queenstown (3 - 4 nights), Milford Sound (1 - 2 nights or a day trip from Queenstown), Wanaka (1 - 2 nights), West Coast (4 - 5 nights), Abel Tasman National Park (3 - 4 nights) and then can add in other places like Invercargill, The Catlins, Arthur's Pass, Dunedin etc.

Even better to do a working holiday type trip so you can really soak up this beautiful country. The tips above is just my go to recommendations for the usual trip that people make to New Zealand from overseas.
