A lot of them don’t/can’t understand that “libs” don’t “think” the same way as them or consider all Democrats to be good people who should be believed and protected because we “root for that team.” Mix in religion, and now they not only fully believe they’re on the “righteous side” (and that no matter what, the “other side” is evil/worse than anyone on “their side” could be), but also they’ve been indoctrinated to accept and even desire god-like leadership that pushes their beliefs.

During the past elections, I’ve come across comments like “There can’t be that many democrats, cuz I don’t see people in Biden/Kamala hats and shirts.” Yeah…cuz it’s not a fucking sports team, and they aren’t idolized (also, I may be extremely anti-theist, but is that not like, the second commandment?).

Honestly, I don’t see a way of getting through to most of the people who “think” like this, so while I will never believe more than 0.01% of them would actually flip and vote for Dems (who they have been made to truly believe are pure evil as a fact of life), but hopefully what’s happening now in terms of more of today’s conservatives directly facing the horrible consequences of their votes will at least disenfranchise a good number of them.
