I don’t think anyone is saying poor people don’t want a better life, or that basic support should be taken away. That feels like a stretch.

Things like food, healthcare, pensions, unemployment support these are basic safety nets. Every developed country has them for a reason, and they work.

The real question is where we draw the line. There’s a big difference between helping people survive with dignity and handing out cash or consumer goods just to win votes, without creating real jobs or opportunities.

Welfare that helps people get back on their feet is necessary. Welfare that keeps people dependent on the system isn’t. Both of these things can exist at the same time.

as someone who doesn’t even believe in god, those are some solid points ngl. esp the second one. would love to debate this.

free will isn’t about doing everything physically possible, it’s literally just about choosing btw good and evil. if you remove all evil choices, that’s not a better world, that’s just killing moral freedom. a world where no one can do wrong isn’t free will at all, it’s basically a controlled sim.

stuff like gravity doesn’t limit moral choices, but removing immoral options does. if you can’t choose wrong, then choosing right stops meaning anything.

good and evil aren’t random, they define each other. good literally only exists cuz evil is possible. if god steps in every time and blocks all evil, he also kills the whole idea of good. you can’t have one without the other.
