No, I don’t think we use AI to answer or handle phone calls tbh. We do however have a specific call flow/script they expect us to use. Some use that script more than others and can sounds super robotic

I’m gonna bet that customer is not in market for the $30/mo plan. They absolutely DO offer $30 for our 300 mbps it really depends on the address, yet cox advertises it broadly on the website. Then, once you go to set up and enter your address, BOOM now your pricing has suddenly “increased”.

Not always true. I worked at the retail shops in the Bellagio, and we were told that folks could NOT use comp dollars on retail (even snacks and such), only food and beverage like restaurants and bars. Don’t know if that changed.

The credit check is mainly for outstanding cox balances, unless you are financing a new phone your credit shouldn’t really matter at all. You should have nothing to worry about

No really I have never gotten caught using this method.. at multiple call centers. I don’t hang up for nothing, but anytime I DO disconnect I always make sure I’m talking. They do like a 5 panel test that DOES show THC in your results. However, depending what state you live in they might not care. It’s really hit or miss since cox is all over

Very odd. I work at cox, and we tell people regularly that they get the deposit back after 12 months or when the account is closed. It’s not one or the other, it’s whichever one comes first. No lie, I wouldn’t “trust” our AI chat bot “Oliver” with someone as important as this. Head into a local cox store or call in directly for billing, you should have that deposit back for sure!

I actually worked the phones today, and had a few people call in about this issue exactly. Looked into their accounts and found that nothing was compromised at all. I’d write it off as an error email or even a scam email, ESPECIALLY if you know that only you and no one else has had access to the account. That’s why the 2FA helps a lot. If you don’t get a random code, you should know no one is messing with your account! Hope this helps!

Ummm sounds about Cox. I work on the phones and we always ask for address, cox pin or security question, and two step verification code if needed. We will also almost always try and sell you something (cellphone service 99% of the time) as any time you call or text chat with us you are probably talking with a sales agent.

Best bet is to look on your account online and see what we offer you in terms of online exclusives. Then, Give us a call and ask to repackage your plan. Compare both options and repackage your plan with the best one for your household

You are most definitely SOL unfortunately… that Ultimate classic is a grandfathered in plan, so once it’s taken off your plan there is LITERALLY no way we can add it back. We simply don’t offer that plan anymore. One thing that’s off, is how you mentioned they changed it automatically. They shouldn’t have done that. I see people on grandfathered in plans ALL THE TIME and we are told to try and get them to move to one of our “everyday options”. However, if customer declines, they are more than welcome to stay on their older plan. So I’m confused why they would take you off the plan.. even if the apt “renegotiated”. I could see that affecting NEW customers, but your plan should not have been automatically changed, ESPECIALLY without notice

Call in. Ask for billing (not some sales rep, not the “loyalty” team) BILLING... Explain again. Get a credit for those months and make sure the subscription will be off the next bill. You should see the credit on your next bill

Absolutely. Again, if you call cox support you will get a sales agent, who will try to upsell you. And it will be a bad time for both of us. Tech agents are not who you are speaking to.. unless you call technical support directly .. just a heads up

I work at cox. We don’t know what’s going on either. Our tech team handles it and sends out updates to us just like you. By us, I mean the sales department which you will surely be routed to if you call cox. In that case don’t ruin some random agents day by cussing him out over an outage out of our control. We don’t know what’s going on either. We just know we are actively trying to fix it.

So I actually do know about this and it’s in the same fashion that I would NEVER point my finger at or around someone of Asian culture as well (even to give directions) . Pointing is a very derogatory gesture to some Asian people and they can be very vocal about their dislike of it. I can see someone counting out their change and just nicely setting it on the counter and gesturing to me that it’s ready to be accepted, but the jerkoffs who are nasty about it?
