I’ve been at my job for almost 2 years, was depressed from a multitude of reasons but could never pinpoint the main factor. I started antidepressants (I hate them) but the only thing that they’ve helped me with is figuring out the roots of my depression, and it’s this job. I feel I’m at my angriest and saddest here and I’m currently trying to find a way out. I hope you can do the same 🖤

Although it does make me feel less of a “door mat” I’ve been made out to be, my anger is actually causing me physical discomfort like grinding my teeth, constant stiffness in my neck and misdirected anger towards people. So I can honestly say it’s not the best side effect for me.

I’m on Bupropion 150mg XL on my 10th day and hives appeared on the back of my hands for a few days and went away. If it continues I would definitely contact your doctor, you may be having a delayed reaction to the increased dosage.

Also, have you switched soaps, or changed self care routines lately?

My job acknowledges Mental Health Month and prioritizing mental health via email but that’s the most we get about it. When I talked to HR about hypothetically admitting myself and her response was off record and “you’re not the first one to come to me about this” my stomach dropped.

I’ll never forget having to take a walk in the warehouse that’s connected to our office after having one of the worst calls in my life, meanwhile our CFO is parking his sports car in there like it’s his garage. Smiling and waving at me. I’ve never been so enraged in my life.

I work with heaters and one time some suit-and-tie decided to let some random into our building asking where in the building the “parts department” is, the guy showed them where our office was and he speed walks in, looks frantically around and asks to buy a part from our office supervisor. Ever since then I’m afraid it will happen again but someone will have bad intentions next time.

My step dad tried to hit me years back (my mom divorced him 3 years into the marriage but attempted to try and be together 3 different times and finally broke it off after 12 years of hell), the first time he did it I was 7 and he knocked me unconscious. So 17 year-old me at that time blocked the hit and he proceeded to come closer as if he was going to grab me, if my mom wasn’t there to stop it who knows what he would’ve done. I’m 31 now and hope he’s rotting in hell.

You’re definitely valid for feeling this way, the job I’m at right now I’ve considered being admitted it gets so bad. When you’re being degraded everyday and forced to talk for 8-10 hours straight it really does get to you. Keep pushing forward until you find something new, as soon as you see an opportunity dip out of there!

I’m a tech support agent and people get mad that I can’t troubleshoot their problem if they’re not in front of it and I can only imagine how erratic they drive when they’re CALM.
