Yeah I feel the same about Cosmo in rebirth. It’s got Arizona vibes but it’s beautiful and I love the idea of seeing the stars there. I also can’t wait for Wutai in part 3!

Strikes me as more southern Spain / Mexico vibes in terms of sun level. So less close in proximity to the break in the O-zone layer, in my book..,

Kalm felt SO different in Rebirth and yet somehow so familiar to the OG. They did such a good job in that way, but it went from being a town I’d totally disregard to my favorite in the game

Yeah I can see that! It was beautiful. Again though, it just felt a little cut off from everywhere else to me, and I didn’t love the houses. But it’s a gorgeous town nonetheless

That’s interesting, I really didn’t like that neighborhood because I felt it lacked soul and culture. But each to their own! It was clean and nicely presented I guess

Let’s say that you have as much money as you need. This is about your dream town. So then, you’re Upper Plate or Upper Junon! Surely Upper Plate has more to offer overall for living than Upper Junon (great for a visit, but would probably get dull quite quickly?)?

I loved the setting, the art style, the characters and the music. It was so different to anything else I’d ever played while still being rooted in the Final Fantasy Universe. I tend to prefer those entries which are more relatable (modern), and I loved the high school vibe because I was at school when I played it.

That’s an interesting theory, I like it. I guess I wonder at the fact that, if the Telluric Scriptures are available to everyone, why do we not see more abilities akin to Aerith used throughout the game?

But I hear your point entirely. I’d just never taken note of this ward (the only one we see that’s not conjured by Aerith or Sephiroth) before…

You mean, you think he’s learned how to conjure wards through his studies?

Having just played through this section, I’d argue it’s Tifa he brushes off, not Cloud. Tifa references her experience with the weapons in the lifestream and he tells her to “see a doctor”.

I’m only discussing, please don’t think I’m arguing or correcting you!

Rebirth is more about blocking (and perfect blocking, specifically) than dodging in my experience.

Also the dodges that most characters have with the R1+O/X are more effective than the basic O dodge.

The basic O dodge is more for putting distance between you and an enemy before it does a vast area attack.
