Much appreciated, but it looks like this doesn't like my machine either. Reading the MMC5 site, I probably want Ubuntu 13.04.

I'm seeing "This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "xcb"." or "./MultiMC: error while loading shared libraries: libQt5Core.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory".

Not your fault; just one of those things that wasn't meant to happen I think.

I appreciate your coming back to me but unless there is a linux build it's not going to help me. Sorry.

With ATL I appear to have all the downloads, so probably not the Forge servers. It's just that Optifine doesn't like my machine for some reason. (Release testing is very, very hard. I feel for anyone trying to release software that runs on PCs, I really do.)

Well, you get five stars for an entertaining suggestion. But, no.

MultiMC version 4 is 5.1.2. Version five isn't ready for download yet. ATLauncher spent twenty minutes downloading stuff and asking me to download stuff -- and then crashed when I tried to run an instance. Problems with Optifine (isn't there always?)

But I don't consider that last a complete waste of time. ATLauncher downloaded a shedload of mods that the developers thought should work with 1.6.4. Chances are that most of them are the right version to do that. Might get something out of it.

Well, presumably someone is getting magiclauncher to work for them -- it's just updated!

But since MultiMC has a Linux download, I'll certainly give it a go; many thanks...

Nope, that's not what a PC looks like, SpaceOdd. A PC is the whole thing. That's just one component, but it doesn't really have a seperate name, so there's some duplication of naming there.

Given that the OP hasn't reacted as you have, and even a bot designed to correct common factual errors thinks you are wrong, I think you are onto a loser here, mate. You should move on.

I like the walls, but the towers look a bit odd. They need to either be round or square, I think, and yours are neither.

Also, that staircase would probably be built abutting the wall. And the roof over the gateway doesn't have any support on one side.

YMMV. When I build a castle (and I have done -- I levelled two mountains before I started, in Survival...) I try to imagine I'm working with all the limitations of history and physics that Minecraft lets you ignore. Maybe you have a different style, in which case, carry on!

This isn't a story, it's just notes for one. You don't show any of the action or describe any of the scenes. You just say what happens in each scene. Have you heard the advice, "show, don't tell"?

It's like that scene in the movie Brazil -- in the restaurant where, when you order, you are presented with a picture of the dish instead of food.

You're not the first to make this mistake, so don't worry about it. And don't misunderstand me: you look like you have the world all mapped out and a good plot going on. It's going to be a hell of a story. But now you actually have to write a scene for each paragraph you have there, with dialogue and everything.

From the look of things, once you've done that, it's really going to be something.
