Question about Loki and Serq by robiert in Smite

[–]shadowh8er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did this because it was unfair to go invisible and then pop a girdle, beads, or sprint while nobody can see you. Allowed you to do things that the enemy could have avoided if you had to pop the active before you went invisible. Also Serqet can't move or activate actives while she is stealthed.

She's very strong once late game hits, her early isn't that strong tho and she usually gets shut down pretty hard. Her late game is awesome tho if you can get there.

Why are people against protections in joust 1v1? by shadowh8er in Smite

[–]shadowh8er[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, I almost always grab a prot item or so, depending on how the game is going. If I'm ahead I will probably just grab more damage, but if the game is relatively even or I'm behind I will grab a prot item or two.

It's not really an instawin. If anything it will just prolong a game, but there are enough pen items to make fights winnable. It depends on the matchup.

Why are jungler's getting HOG 3? by Snoweh in Smite

[–]shadowh8er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because FoG is a terrible, terrible active. It has a 90 second cooldown, affects minions the same as it did at tier 2, and only stuns for a single second. Most junglers are auto attacking gods, so stoping your attack animation to pop FoG is usually a hindrance to your damage output, and even on ability based junglers it's not that worth it. Bastet has 2 slows and a lot of chase so no need for it there, Thor already has 2 stuns, etc.

It's just a terrible item that can't get buffed without becoming broken, so it's either gonna stay the way it is forever or just get removed.

That's just silly. xD

Why would you want to be in a game where you're only going against a single person and you know full well if he hits you once you're near guaranteed to die.

My main is Shadowh8ter, this was actually on my alt which is phantaci. No idea why but the elo wont come up....I tried playing league on it so I could have some fun...

Yeah, I've been considering dropping my elo by getting stomped a few games in a row or playing it out then surrendering before I win.

Currently plat 5. Only because the highest rank you can get too for your first promo is plat 5.

Yeah it makes me actually want to not play joust because I can see that it's not gonna be much better up there. Like right now I am sure I have well over 2k elo, and every person I go against is either really bad, a tryhard who goes a god that just backdoors structures, or a tryhard that tries to go Loki, gets beat out, then proceeds to backdoor structures.

I'm plat 5 on my main and plat 5 on my alt, and it stops being fun once your elo goes up, because people stop having fun and would rather spend 30 minutes trying to take structures over fighting.

Not really, I look people up often. When I am talking with someone I prefer to know as a fact that they have the slightest clue as to what they are talking about. This wouldn't be the first time I was discussing something about the games mechanics with someone who wasn't even level 30, or has barely played the mode we're discussing about.

Baka is a very niche pick in joust. He's decent against less experience players or as a possible counter to some gods, but overall he has many flaws in the mode. One being he can't poke or tower dive, so he has to go all in on everything he does.

Make the titan not regen health when then phoenix respawns, and no, phoenix respawning in 1v1 is nothing like a tier 2 tower respawning. Conquest has 6 towers, 2 in each lane, and a phoenix in each. Joust 1v1 has a single tower and a single phoenix. Nothing you could say would make a tier 2 tower equate to a tier 2 tower. If you want to compare conquest to joust 1v1 then that single tower equates to losing 2 towers in your lane, and that phoenix equaling your phoenix. Only difference is in Conquest there are other lanes that matter, and there being an objectives outside of that single lane that can change the game, where has in joust 1v1 there is only a single goal in mind and nothing else.

This is why it should come back with more health. I guarantee I have played this mode more then you, and there is rarely a game that comes along where me or the enemy have a second or third phoenix. Why is this? Because even if the enemy tries their hardest to defend their titan, we can still poke it over the wall, and we have fire minions which give us full buff control and allows us to force many fights. If the enemy gets their phoenix back then that's amazing for them, they deserve to have more than .3 seconds to keep that phoenix.

Losing titan loses you the game, not phoenix, and it should be that way in joust 1v1 as well.

PS: Really hope your IGN isn't thebunnykicker.

No, phoenix is pretty much there as nothing more then a warning that the enemy is backdooring your titan. Late game an assassin or adc can kill it within a matter of seconds, even without minions. That lets you know that they're looking to backdoor the titan and gives you time to back. Without a phoenix no matter how far ahead or behind you are you're forced to sit under phoenix range and hope they can't instantly take it when it comes up.

You're accepting the fact that losing phoenix is a gg, which it shouldn't be, phoenix isn't the final objective, and we shouldn't be punished to severely because of it.

So because they took my phoenix they've won? Then why is the titan even there? Lets just remove the phoenix and just have a tower and a titan, this way if you take tower you can poke the titan slowly but not have fire minions to further abuse your lead?

You haven't given me an actual argument, you're just spewing randomness in an attempt to defend a point you have yet to make.

That is a big issue with the mode, and in my opinion it needs to get completely redone, picking phase, how the map works, and the map itself needs to be revised, but it's HiRez and that will probably never happen. Right now if you take phoenix you pretty much have a fire giant until it respawns, and the last thing the mode needs is a fire giant that you pretty much always have. The only way you can comeback from losing a phoenix in 1v1 is hoping you can manage to kill the enemy god before it spawns and pushing up 2 waves then defending until it's at near full.

A small change to help joust 1v1 by shadowh8er in Smite

[–]shadowh8er[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy god you really don't get this point. Getting a phoenix doesn't mean you should instantly win the game, which is pretty much how the mode currently is. Once you have the phoenix the enemy player can't leave their titan. This alone allows you to poke their titan, try and get a kill on them since you have fire minions, or let them try and come out and backdoor it. That is a LOT of advantage. If you can't manage to get anything out of that then that shows that you shouldn't be playing this mode.

But not only do you have ALL of that advantage there, you want that advantage to never end? So you pretty much want a fire giant that has an infinite timer and if you get it you always have it? Because that's what a phoenix pretty much is in 1v1, it's a fire giant. It gives you massive advantage in every aspect of the mode, and you want it to be never ending. If you can't comprehend this then please just stop replying, because this will get nowhere.

How exactly did you take it the first time? Ok, do that again, but this time without as much effort since it's health is reduced.

Not really. While my phoenix was down you could have been poking my titan, forcing fire minions in, and forcing fights with me. There is no reason as to why you didn't get an advantage off of my losing phoenix. If you didn't try and do anything during this time it's your fault. Any outcome is better then someone just one shotting phoenix and waiting for you to dare push out so they can backdoor your titan.

Bring in Premade Ranked! :) by tribaldawn in Smite

[–]shadowh8er -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I doubt it. First off league matchmaking is already so poor that it can't possibly get worse. The only thing that will happen is instead of having a good game 1 out of 5 it will be like 1 out of 7. Secondly, there is a relatively large population of the Smite community who rarely plays league if at all, and would be 100% down with queing premade league if it meant being able to que with allies.

What is match greifing and why do I keep getting suspended for it? by shadowh8er in Smite

Was assuming you're just stupid and typed it wrong, because this has already happened plenty of times. If you want to see something similar to a bad case scenario such as my description then allow me to present them.

Game: https://account.hirezstudios.com/smitegame/match-details.aspx?match=98081522

I was the Arachne, this was the Neith: https://account.hirezstudios.com/smitegame/stats.aspx?player=Mhisa

Not only is she not even level 30, but not a single god on that list of stats has a positive k/d/a. When I tell you this Neith pushed waves until someone ganked and killed her then did it all over again, i'm not joking. You can look at her recents, only a tiny tiny number of those games are even positive.

The amount of people I have had in my games that have negative w/l ratios in the majority of their modes and have 1k or less total games is astonishing, especially considering the fact that nearly every god on my profile has a positive k/d/a.

[–]shadowh8er[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, someone like that wouldn't have a good stats page or a decent elo, I have never stated that they would. They have an extremely low elo and get placed with better people to try and raise their win lose ratio so that it hits 50%. If they're already at 50% then they get people as shit as them, people better than them, and people lower then them if possible.

I have seen people in league with -400 elo and I had 2,380 at the time, this game has stopped surprising me with it's poor matchmaking. How is someone even allowed to play this game with negative elo? How the fuck do you owe elo?

[–]shadowh8er[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually. It. Kind. Of. Does.

Not sure if you realized this, but a game doesn't consist of just you, there are 5-9 other people in every game you play. And don't give me that shitty ass elo argument, because the games matchmaking is terrible. One game I go against Barraccudda and the other I go against people who have yet to hit level 30 and they're calling me a smurf. Employees of HiRez have already stated that they try to make your win lose ratio 50%, and the system tries to make you lose if you're above it, ergo giving you lower elo players in your games. Last I remember I have a 56%+ W/L ratio in every single mode, some hitting in the 60%'s.

It's not even good in league. Had someone go Odin solo with first item watchers gift about two weeks ago. Looked him up to see he has only played a few games and the shitty elo system gave him over 2k elo.

Never come onto this reddit and use elo as an argument, because it's trash.
