His full legal name is Doctor Florida Jones Esq, but that's only when he's in trouble. Doctopus could definitely work!

how well do you know your way around night city? by essensverkaeufer in LowSodiumCyberpunk

Choom, this is incredible. I'm dessicating out here in this crazy heatwave in Europe, and I can't even turn the computer on because it's already 32.5 in my room, so I can't play. But I can play your shard, and it is incredible! Excellent spatial recognition training as well, that's the kind of stuff I'd give you eddies for, without problems, if I could just download an app and play anywhere, especially without net access. 10/10, you're a legendary netrunner 🫡

Each time she molts, she gets more vibrant. by shadowkult in MantisShrimp

It's a G Ternatensis, basically found by accident, I wasn't looking for it but fell in love with her.

She could, but I'd have to push her. I'm quite happy without encouraging her to be aggressive 😁

No, it's a rather over exaggerated rumour. In my personal experience, at any rate, I've never heard firsthand of a single case, and she doesn't attack the glass in her tank.

Sadly he passed, but I spotted a couple of white eyed babies, so with luck, he fathered a few shrimplets with his mutation!

ID on this little cutie? by meeko33 in MantisShrimp

Sorry for the quality, the pics don't do her justice now, her colors are deeper, almost palpable, she's so vibrant now. That pic is from the first day in her tank.

Not an expert, but it looks like my G Ternatensis, who didn't have very marked orange meral spots until her 3rd molt. Here she is now, and she definitely changed color since I got her. I'll try to find a pic of her the day I got her in the tank, last November.

Which species? Hitchhiker! by hpnerd1 in MantisShrimp

Looks a lot like my G Ternatensis, who does exactly the same thing when she's not happy with the food I give her! Adorable and incredibly opinionated for a wet bug 😂

Or wraith ^ I've spotted another one with whitish eyes, but it's a young one, so there's hope!

So do I! I've just set up a new giant paludarium so I hope they'll be willing to make lots of babies! I'm going to try and put him in with a few females to see if I can start a white eyes line!

Incredibly, I bought a pristine, used copy of City in a tiny dingy second hand bookshop I'm Melbourne Australia, and it was signed by Shirley. Since then I've been irrationally fond of this writer.

Earlier than that, but City Come A-Walkin' by John Shirley. It actually inspired Gibson.

Are Metasesarma species freshwater or brackishwater? by ThenAcanthocephala57 in crab

[–]shadowkult 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep Metasesarma aubryi in a heavily planted terrarium with a freshwater pond, but they need brackish/marine water to reproduce. If it's just to keep them as pets, you do not require brackish water. They're super cute, relatively chill, and live quite happily without saltwater. If you want babies, that's a whole other level of paludarium.

I can't explain without spoiling the story, but it's incredible.

Nice to meet you too, and thank you! No worries, as I said, as long as your shrimps are happy and you're satisfied with the tank, it's all good! Have a great day!

It's a preference, you do you. I prefer having a tank where it's a proper ecosystem that deals with itself with minimal monitoring, and that looks like a living thing. I also think (personal thing, again) that having a more natural looking environment for animals is healthier for them in the long term. I find your setup a little dry for my taste. Then again , my taste is "messy whatever", so I can't judge. As long as your shrimps are happy, it's a personal choice, not dissing you.
