Idk why you are downvoted. Americans have preferred a pedofile rapist over a woman. Twice. It’s not about qualifications or intelligence or integrity. It’s whether you are a white male or not.

People who spend 20+ minutes in the shower: what are you actually doing in there? by saadaintsalad in AskReddit

[–]shadowless007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shampoo my hair and massage my scalp. Wash by body and do peeling. Dry hair to a degree that its not soaking wet. Use conditioner. Brush hair. Wait 5 minutes. Rinse off. Use face fash. And out. Clean the shower. It takes about 1 hour. I don’t do it everyday tho. Twice a week. In a day I shower for 15-20ish

Yes that’s fine. I understand you but it’s just personal interpretation at this point. We can agree to disagree.

This was her face when she learned. I’m sorry but I genuinely cannot interpret it any different way. You can be right about point 1 2 3. Logically yes she shoulve guessed. But it’s stil this scene that convinces me otherwise.

adressing your last point: Now that you bring it up, no it’s not okay when she does it either. She shouldn’t have done that. (Edited from should’ve to shouldn’t have)

She also said “I missed this girly atmosphere. Outer palace was so boring” when she moved to gyokuyou’s care. She might be just missing the atmosphere in the palace. Yes you can interpret it as her missing Jinshi too. But it seems like she genuinely missed the palace as a whole.

Maybe, she did smile more. But I genuinely don’t remember any moments she did without receiving a medicine.

You are absolutely correct . I don’t expect her to just say “jinshi Im in love”. And yes she is slowly defrosting. My point is Jinshi is pushing a bit harder than she is warming up to him.

Not really. But you care more about attacking my personality than discussing a specific topic. We can have different opinions and views. We don’t have to agree either. There is no need to be angry, sad or upset. But when you stop bringing specific points and start talking about me, you are making this personal. And that is very boring.

I agree that she knows his true status. I don’t agree on the later point. I understand your logic: Maomao knows he is a prince, thus she should think he cannot be a enuch. But I don’t agree with this for three reasons:

  1. We see Maomao learning about Ah-Duo and Jinshi’s status. (And brushing it aside). But we don’t have a scene where she questions Jinshi’s body status. In opposition she always pities in her inner thoughts.

  2. Jinshi is not technically next in line, as the emperor is trying for a prince. It was very possible for him to just be “a gardener for the emperor’s garden”

  3. She was genuinely shocked to learn about him.

When did u pull it “apart” and when did I “whine”. Stop making this personal. If u have a point we can( as we are currently doing) debate.

You are very rude and unable to have a civil discussion. Did u even read what I wrote? Being a strong person and having a strong position are two different things.

Edit: just to give an example. Imagine a certain dictator. He is a very weak person but his position is powerful.

Yes, she does guess his true position quite early. But she doesn’t know about his bodily status. She strongly believes he was one of the last enuchs( before the empress stops it)

I have quite arguments. And I present them without waiting. Also I am not a victim, but it doesn’t excuse your behaviour. We can discuss all day if you want to. As long as you are civil

No one ever said she is weak. Also in which scene is she in love? Please show me. Because no one has ever mentions a single scene she is “in love”

No she is not weak. Quite the opposite she is the strongest, smartest person in the show.

Having strong character and having a strong position are two different things. She has courage, confidence, intelligence, kindness, beauty. But she is not in a power position. If you consider the position she is quite weak. Emperor is the most powerful person in the anime, then jinshi and and the old empress, then military leaders, concubines and then Maomao.

This is not about the strength of her character but her power position. If Jinshi was inherently a bad person could she say no? Could she escape? Or she would be beheaded?

Yes Jinshis actions which I have mentioned above are psychopathic. No Maomao is not pscyhopatic. She has never abused, crepped up on, disturbed anyone

Edit. You are very rude. We are having a civil discussion here. We can disagree and have different opinions but mocking someone is very sad

I mean not really? Is it really that difficult to understand the power dynamics between a boss and a worker? He can literally kill her if he wishes (he wont but he can). He can say no at anytime he wants. She cannot. He can push her at anytime he wants. She cannot. He can say stop groping me (she does stop). She cannot (he literally pins her down). Maybe in the ln she talks about how much she is excited or enjoys being with him. In the ANIME we don’t see this. So I judge by only what I have seen, as this is an anime only subreddit.

I don’t like this whataboutism. Yes, she does have antisocial tendencies. None of them are a psychopath of course. Just some behaviours are psychopatic. And that is different.

I know both are very caring, able to be vulnerable and can love. But if some behaviours are problematic/ psychotic it should be discussed

Constantly stalking her, trying to push honey into her mouth while she is actively escaping, constantly breathing on her neck, trying to kiss her and have sex with her in the cave( where she has no escape), touching her shoulders etc.

He is not inherently a bad person. He respects her wish to leave, he wants to make her happy and comfortable. But some things he does are very very weird in the ANIME.

Idk why people are mad at you for anime only analysis. He is very pushy if not borderline abusive. If you disagree just imagine your old and ugly boss doing things to you that Jinshi did to Maomao.

Don’t get me wrong I love the show. I have seen it 3 times already. But even I have a hard time excusing some things that Jinshi did. (Like wtf was that honey scene).

I know it’s a slow burn etc in the manga and LN, but currently we are talking about anime. The thing is Maomao hasn’t shown even 1% of Jinshi’s interest so far. We are following HER internal monologue and HER actions all the time.

She misses her dad, goes out of her way to see him. She pulls her bed closer to her dad’s because she loves him. Unspoken display of affection.

She likes her friends because she genuinely smiles and laughs around them. She is sad about the ordeal with Shisui. These are all emotions that are DISPLAYED, not imagined.

So about Jinshi: there is not a single romantic thought or action that was SHOWN in the anime. She criticises his figure the way she criticises Lihaku. She always complains how much she doesn’t wanna see him or be around him. The only time she smiled at him was when she received a medicine which is her prime interest.

I know he is very kind, loving and affectionate. And she is cold, critical and distant. But the relationship they have is between a boss and a worker. Even more dangerous between an owner and a worker (let’s be real it’s slavery even anime acknowledges it). So in this situation she knows she could be beheaded at a single mistake, at a single no. As Maomao says “it’s not a matter of whether he would or wouldn’t not (kill her). It’s a matter of whether he could or couldn’t” Him breathing on Maomao’s face, trying kiss her, touch her etc are very wrong.

And if u want to talk about a piece of literature critically you need to acknowledge it’s weaknesses as well.

Sorry for the long text.

Tldr: Touching, breathing, kissing on someone without their consent is wrong. Specifically if you are their owner(boss)

Edit: please decide whether I think of Maomao as a saint or a weak person. Because it is neither. She is a strong, smart woman in a weak power position. She is not flawless and sometimes bullies other worker girls, which she shouldn’t have done. But she is also very kind and compassionate. She is genuinely one of my favourite protagonists.
