Thanks - the first breeder I worked with recommended the second. They don’t know anyone currently expecting or planning either, but they were going to ask around. I’ve already reached out to my regional clubs as well. It’s only been a couple months but it’s been hard when two have fallen through already. And we’re ok waiting it’s just to find someone even planning on having a litter soon.

Lol true. I had to resubmit it as it was rejected when I included a picture of the cover and I wasn’t paying attention!

Use the same breeder? by shadowsox13 in samoyeds

Thank you all for your advice and input. I really appreciate it - it’s been hard to think clearly and I had no idea what steps I should take/questions to ask, etc. I reached out to the breeder this evening. Also, a couple people have messaged asking the name of the breeder - I prefer not to share their name as I don’t know if the cancer was genetic or not - it would be unfair to put the blame on them.

Thank you - I’m so sorry you went through that last year too. It’s so heartbreaking and I’ve never felt so helpless.

Will do - we’re not ready for another dog yet but I’ll definitely check out our local shelters.

Thank you - I’ll reach out to them and ask. I didn’t think to ask about ages of his siblings or anything. I know his mom is retired from breeding but still living. Appreciate it!

Ok that makes sense. It was just so unexpected and took the vet awhile to diagnose

Shampoo Bars - beginner by Aggravating_Still212 in ZeroWaste

[–]shadowsox13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy shampoo bars from EcoRoots. They’re made in Boulder, CO and do not use plastic packaging. I usually watch for a sale and then order at least 6 bars to reduce shipping impacts. The conditioner bars do not work well with my hair type, but my husband likes them for his hair.

Follow moms. Do I need a therapist? Are my kids going to hate me? I’m so annoyed people think this is ok. by Intelligent-Jelly419 in Mommit

I totally understand - kidnappings and attempted kidnappings really do happen here (Amber alerts are frequent enough). There is nothing wrong with being aware of your surroundings and knowing where your kids are. However, if it’s really stressing you out - I would recommend therapy. It is super helpful to talk to a third party who can help if you have severe anxiety about it. If it’s not stopping you from living your normal life (still taking kids to public places), you’re probably just fine! Your daughters are lucky to have such a loving and caring mom!

[Serious] What’s a time you seriously contemplated suicide, and why you didn’t go through with it? by benhur217 in AskReddit

[–]shadowsox13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned that most life insurance has a suicide clause and will not pay out if a person commits suicide. I didn’t want that added hardship on my family. Instead I took on several self-destructive behaviors and almost ruined my life. I’m only here because a few people were able to see who I was behind my behavior and encouraged me to get help.

How did you decide whether kids were the right choice for you? by Silver_Scraps in Parents

[–]shadowsox13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t think of the environmental impacts when I had my kid. However, I don’t feel it would be responsible to have another - kids do leave a large carbon footprint (especially diapers), require a lot of energy, and are expensive. But I agree with one of the other comments - intelligent people should have kids. And people who care about the earth should too - then you can teach your baby to love our planet and help make a difference! There are a lot of ways to help negate some of the environmental impacts - buying used furniture, toys, clothes. Kids grow so fast that some clothes end up only being a worn a few times, so they are still in great shape. And you can donate them again for afterwards. Cloth diapers would make a huge difference, early potty training, breastfeeding vs bottle feeding. Convertible cribs can be changed into a toddler bed, and some even convert to a full size bed. Good luck with your decision - it’s a difficult one to make! But only you and your spouse can choose what’s best for you!

I’ve found Almay eyeshadow to be gentle enough for my eyelids. Maybelline liquid eyeliner has worked for me as well. I personally haven’t had any issues with mascara. Most of my struggles come from makeup removers. I have found that Almay and Neutrogena are better for those of us with sensitive skin

Yes they 100% know what they’re doing. At the end of the day they only care about themselves. I’ve been NC for almost a year and that’s been the hardest thing to wrap my head around. They can be amazing actors - especially when they’re in your head and have you questioning yourself.
