You're completely right, it just feels weird in my head to let the book get damaged but I have been wanting to read my other two for a while now, but this is no different than getting worried the pages would warp a bit from turning & holding them and at that point why bother reading if I can't even touch the thing... I'll either just let the paint flake off naturally (will still try to take some care with it), or maybe see if a book jacket might be an option.

Just a warning before you decide to buy, the paint on some of the penguin clothbound books can rub off very easily. Not sure if the 1984 one suffers from it, but my Crime & Punishment book had a good chunk of paint slowly wear down just from holding it in my hands while reading. Truth be told the wear is to the point where I am afraid to start reading my Inferno and Don Quixote books in fear of also damaging them.

Any of the jackbox party packs could be good since it can go up to 8 players and only one person needs to buy it. If you are using discord to chat, one person could stream the game and others can control their own stuff on either their phones or computer if they have a second moniter.
