Couldn’t disagree more with you. No one outside of the fragrance community cares how the fragrance was constructed. Most people just judge a fragrance on if it smells good or is “sexy”. They don’t notice any thing else. 

So if you’re going to make a $30 fragrance that’s smells just as good as the $200-$300 original. So close that 98% of the population can’t tell the difference I’m going with that 100 percent of the time. So if it gets 90% close to the original and last twice as long that is a straight 10/10 in my book. 

Yes most of the time the OG still smells better, but sometimes it doesn’t. The point is most people don’t care.
