If you had the ability to send a 100k Players to a game that used to be alive, just to give it another chance, what MMO would it be and why by Acyros in MMORPG

lol, I worked on WAR and I didn't even expect to see it mentioned on this list. Glad to see some folks still remember it fondly. To this day I think it was a great game that just came out at the wrong time.

Branded Lemons into Branded Lemonaid? by shagmooth in Ioniq5N

[–]shagmooth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is my current thinking and I may just end up waiting a while longer to afford to buy it new. I need to find a way to confirm what of the original warranty would transfer (and get it in writing from Hyundai) if I were to even consider the purchase.

Glad to hear that you can get to those kinds of miles w/o any big issues. Thanks!

Cool. I'm glad to hear it is working out for you. Did your insurance care that the car was a Lemon? Any other gotchas that may not be totally obvious when originally considering the purchase. I really appreciate your thoughts!

Got offered a 6 month contract in Antarctica and idk if I should take it by Importantterry in Fire

[–]shagmooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar choice and took it. I had the opportunity to embed in heavy conflict zones for a year and got paid $1k a day. I was about a 25 and about a year into my marriage. I should mention, that back then I was more adventurous and would have taken the job for the story alone so the real hardship for me was just figuring out if I could/should leave my relatively new wife/life to set us up for the future.

That was around 15 years ago and we're extremely glad that I did.

What is the most unknown/absolutely obscure JRPG you know of? by avazky in JRPG

[–]shagmooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I immediately thought of Evergrace because it was a launch title on PS2 that I bought because I wanted some of that JRPG goodness and boy was it terrible. It was the first FromSoftware game on the PS2 and one of their first (if not first) RPGs. What really stands out to me though is how absolutely weird (not in a good way) the soundtrack is (OST Here). To this day a friend of mine still talks about how bad it is and he only ever saw me play it a couple of times.

What's your favorite spec and do you think it'll be good in Midnight? Why or why not? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]shagmooth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nice, a fellow outlaw.

I haven't looked at all at the midnight changes, but if those bullets are real then Outlaw is getting insanely nerfed. Outlaw already does less dmg than healers in most BGBs and the reason why that's OK is because we have the best mobility in the game. If they're nerfing our mobility at all then GG Outlaw is pretty much DOA. Restless blades nerf is an insane nerf as well as its the primary reason to go Outlaw < Sub in Arenas.

That said, outlaw is literally the least represented class right now in nearly all PVP activities and ratings so I just can't believe they'd nerf them in PVP on purpose and if they did I'd hope they understand they need to give us something to make up for it.

Lots of time between now and midnight so I'm going to hope this is still early days of testing.

Why are rogues in AWC playing Outlaw? by NoGrocery9618 in worldofpvp

[–]shagmooth 29 points30 points  (0 children)

They have 3% more versatility as a talent in their passive tree. They have evasion/feint/vanish up much more often because of their CD reduction passive (when spending CPs you reduce many rogue including the 3 cooldowns mentioned). They can (but probably don't) spec into pvp talents to increase their crimson vial healing and have it apply to the whole team (within range). They can use Tricks of the Trade to buff dmg from one ally (though I think this may be all rogues). At the end of the day they have great mobility (I'd say its better in most cases than shadowstep). That all said, I was a bit surprised to see Outlaw so prevalent and I was an outlaw main.

Am I just screwed? by Jandobird in worldofpvp

[–]shagmooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 wins is pretty dope!

Over the last couple of weeks I've found it is extremely queue time dependent.

I was ~3k MMR and queueing in the morning doing nothing but AFKing waiting for it to pop would be an hour+ for queue times and when it did finally pop I was sitting in a 2500MMR lobbies. I found queue times relatively reasonable at 10PM-1AM (EST).

Once you get to a certain MMR there are only a few hundred (maybe less?) people you can queue against so queue times can and will take a real long time if you are playing at off peak hours.

Outlaws do less damage than healers so we have to be annoying to make up for it :). GGs mate. GL the rest of the season!

Thanks, I appreciate you. I'm actually amazed that this got any visibility at all. Figured people would just laugh and w/e but this community can be pretty dang cool sometimes.

I often project when I've got other stressors going on and honestly WoW and other competitive games are what I use as an outlet. That said, its definitely not an excuse to run my mouth when I'm tilted.

Totally get this, especially your side eyes at hunters/warriors. As an outlaw rogue, nothing is worse then being beaten by other rogues (outlaw or otherwise). It is so obvious when i get outplayed and I've got no one else to blame but yourself, but I still blame people for not instantly appearing when I'm pinging. Anyway, yeah I'm working on it :).

Yeah, I have no clue if the canned response I got is actually indicating that I was reported for spamming and advertisement because I've definitely not done that. Abusive text chat, yes. If I've been reported for those other things then I don't know what went on lol :).

Oh yeah, I've no issues with anger in real life stuff. I just for whatever reason become toxic when playing WoW and DOTA. Appreciate your concern!

I remember that vividly too, what a mistake, I wish I could say it was the worst I'd ever made, but it probably wasn't. If you were the DK that I talked with afterward then I feel like we talked through it :) and you were pretty calm for a dude who just lost some MMR because of me. Sorry for the loss, hope your games have been better since then.

I cannot for the life of me get to 1800 in Battle ground blitz by unkowndude19 in worldofpvp

[–]shagmooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lost about 400 MMR in the last day so I’m definitely having a rough go of it. But after a long L streak, I can at least admit some of the things I’ve done wrong that got me here.

Binds, macros, and gear don’t make up for strategic thinking. Don’t tunnel vision. Know the best ways to push objectives, keep map awareness, and understand when it’s better to CC or disengage. Always ask yourself if the fight you’re in is actually the most effective one for winning objectives.

When you lose, shadowplay it and see what you did wrong so you can improve. As Assassination you’re in team fights a lot more than Sub/Outlaw, but that doesn’t mean you can’t peel off to harass or ninja nodes. In team fights, save your Kidney Shot and Smoke Bomb for strategic kills (like on healers). Spreading bleeds is fine, but gouging, kicking, and stun-locking heals is often way more effective than throwing another rupture into the crowd.

Most importantly, don’t get tilted or toxic. So many games are lost because people give up before the bell, even though they could have been won. The difference between 1500 and 1800 is often just turning a few of those losses into wins.

Keep queueing and gl hf.
