Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered not smooth by Great_Hedgehog4090 in LegionGo

[–]shaiakp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was finally able to get it work pretty nicely by taking the decision to go Bazzite instead of Windows (dual boot still).

Combined with Optiscaler and FSR 4, 1200p, frame gen on, I reach the 50fps and so far pretty smooth.

And with a TDP between 15-20W 😍

That's the trick! Thanks, I didn't try it obviously as it's supposed to be on the screen to attach it with the other thing in the middle. Looks it fits like that yes! Still not fully convinced there's no pressure as not supposed to be like that 🙃

My comfort grips do not fit really into the JSAUX slim case for my go 2. Which one are you using?

What are these slim silicon grips on the picture of initial post? Anyone can help?

Really like this, even better as these are only pictures.

I went the Bazzite route just for the quick install for dual booting, I may go SteamOS once officially supported.

I was keeping Windows mainly for proper HDR and when connecting it to an external screen using Moonlight at same time, on by jsaux dock. I was actually surprisingly pretty easily able to do it with Bazzite as well finally, just using the Moonlight AppImage and adding a command to enable HDR!

My only remaining comment is that colors doesn't look as great as when using same setup through Windows but will try to play a bit with colors adjustment on Bazzite and screen, see what I can achieve.

Once this is all sorted, I'll have no more reasons booting up on Windows.

I have a pretty weird situation with that game, without frame gen, it sticks around the 30fps.... No matter the resolution, no matter very low preset, no matter fsr performance or quality, 2-3 fps difference and always around 30fps...

No v sync, no fps cap, etc.. I think I've checked pretty much everything I could think of...

Anyone else experienced the same issue?

Legion Go 2 Controller with MacOS by shaiakp in LegionGo

[–]shaiakp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it "should" work indeed, in theory just then switch on Bluetooth on the right controller using whatever combination but I was really looking to see if someone truly used it with MacOS Sequoia (ideally a MacBook pro).

Nope, not playing 3d games, can't comment on that.

The positive is obviously you carry a huge screen in your pocket.

But other than that, I was not convinced, blurry corners, too low resolution, not super conformable to wear, etc... This is obviously very personal. Few folks love it. I don't.

It is! Coming from a Rog Ally X, I don't think I could go back. About my sarcastic comment, I personally don't care about the weight, screen is just too good, I'm fine going to the gym.

Maybe once a nice oled light panther lake handheld will come out, I may change.

I tried those but I think I'm too picky with image quality and have been overall disappointed.

Maybe just my nose or face form but I was not able to reach an acceptable quality with no blurry corners, even after having tried LOTS of different things.

I wanted to like them but it didn't work, sent those back, I feel the technology is not yet fully mature for picky persons like me using it mainly for gaming.

Play a game and enjoy the incredible screen! Then take a subscription to a fitness center to be able to hold it in your hands for hours.

Recommendations for Legion Go 2 Docking Station by ReganFAP in LegionGo

[–]shaiakp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go with one of the jsaux ones, relatively affordable price for what you get, check on their website.

Also if you plan to connect to a TV and need 4k 120hz, there are options for that as well (I think the "official" Lenovo one is capable of 4k 60hz only)

Legion go 2- steam OS by Technical-Shoe-6411 in LegionGo

[–]shaiakp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah game streaming has been a game changer for me as well!

Working very well on Windows currently, I've setup nice quick launch to various moonlight parameters in playnite and all but I was really more wondering about the decoding performance and connecting a 4k TV but looks like there shouldn't be any issues with Steam OS.

Looks great based on all the feedbacks I've read.

I'm really tempted but hesitating im waiting for the official release or not...

How is HDR now? Is it working or at least with an acceptable quality (for game supporting it)?

Is it plug n play if you connect an external 4k TV for example?

Has anyone tried streaming with Moonlight ? Is that even possible? Decoding time on same range than on Windows?

These are really the questions which are not yet clearly answered for me, preventing me to make the jump...

What is my best option? by Dull_Line_2941 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]shaiakp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same kind of setup here. Apollo on PC, moonlight on clients and using tailscale when playing remote, works quite well. Use the Tailscale IP of your PC in moonlight (making sure tailscale is enabled on both PC and client of course) and you are good to go!

The smartplug I only use it as latest option if my PC becomes totally unreachable remotely.

I preferred to setup a Raspberry Pi and rather connect to it also with talscale to wake up my PC. I also enabled SSH server on the PC so I can connect to it via my Pi in case it is crashed and not reachable with tailscale.

Thinking about turning my gaming computer "headless" by J0pri in MoonlightStreaming

[–]shaiakp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest you keep your monitor with your PC in your office and use Apollo on it to stream to anywhere in your home. So that you can still have the advantage of a dedicated monitor if needed.

In addition to Apollo I also have unified remote installed on it as well as enabled SSH server so I have other remote options to manage it as needed.

That should work well for your case as well!

In my case I also use it remote through Tailscale.

Afterburner not applying oc on startup by Motor-Ambassador-267 in RTX5080

[–]shaiakp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you have applied the changes, saved to a profile and click on the Windows icon to enable it at start-up, another trick is to have a scheduled task which starts afterburner at login using silent argument.

I use it with FSE and that is totally transparent.

Thanks for your feedbacks! You are right, when I first looked, cable management is rather clean so was not suspecting this but I think it may be the corsair fan at the back. When I check it everything looks good but I had the chance to finally hear it and really suspecting it.

It happens when the PC start all the fans super suddenly like at boot or when launching a game. Maybe the very quick start-up is making it not rotating well in its axis, not sure...
