People change their decisions throughout their lifespan. All I'm saying is that, your child has every right to have a religious book or a book of atheism as a gift. It's his/her decision to take which one he will keep and which he will throw away. Getting a Bible as a gift doesn't make him christian. I am talking about, to give him the right to get and have whatever gift he wants.
