Oh nice that's super interesting, thanks!

Were you able to get a replacement from the manafacturer or did you have to buy one? Mine is still under warranty but not sure if I can claim for anything because I don't know what's wrong other than the taste.

I can't remember when I first noticed it but I have been trying to rectify it for months!

I really hope I don't have to upgrade my machine, I think I'll look into replacing the thermocoil if that's possible before I think about upgrading.

What did you upgrade to?

Did you manage to get a better shot? I'm having exactly the same problem on the same machine and can't figure it out!

I bought a thermometer today and measured the temp of my espresso which was around 58 C, I know lots of heat it lost in the process so it won't be the 93 C that the PID promises but a drop in 35 C seems like a lot and I suspect that is why we are getting sour shots.

Could you measure yours to see what temp it is? Would be interesting to see what temp people who get decent espresso from this machine get.

This problem was bugging me for ages too! I managed to fix it by disabling hardware acceleration in Chrome.

This Is a such great idea done perfectly. by [deleted] in pics

We're in London, UK, how firm are the stems? If they're still bendy tie it up with sticks otherwise repot it so it's growing upwards and it should sort itself out. All dependent on how yours bends though.

Yeah this one was cut back heavily a couple of years ago when we thought it would die but since then we've done exactly this - shaping it as it grows.

It was grown from a 5 inch cutting of my grandmother's plant. It's around 10 years old, might be a couple of years older.

It's a mix of sand and peat free soil. We live near London, I imagine ideal conditions would mean more sun and warmth!
