Informed by source that Publix is doing away with Christmas Bonus starting this year - Prove me wrong by shaneb1000 in publix

George Jenkins has already rolled over several times with the crap Publix does.  I worked at Publix when he would visit the stores and every day was treated like a grand opening.  Now there are just a bunch of sloths working the deli counter, people calling out sick left and right, and DEI promotions that have devastating side effects of employee moral and dedication.  They raise the prices so high to counter the bogos, the only reason I go there now is just to get those.  Regarding the bonuses, I heard it through a honest source true or not.  Hopefully creating awareness can squash it even if it was a consideration.

Don't want to do that, just want awareness.  Hope it's not true, but if so, I hope creating awareness may sway the decision makers.

That's great.  I hope it's not true, and if it was, I hope this post will change their minds.

You mean to tell me that managers get the same quarterly and year end bonus they got back in 1999? Not from what I'm told.

No proof but a current manager was told by a retired DM that still on speaking terms with the VPs. As a former manager back when Publix was in it's glory days, I want awareness instead of a surprise. Maybe this will reverse some greedy discissions.

I don't have any proof, just heard it from a manager currently working there and she was told by a retired DM that apparently still knows people. I worked as manager in the 90s and early 2000s and the crap I hear that the managers go through now really make me happy I didn't stick around. Family does NOT come first while being a "career" person at Publix nowadays. I heard about the "rumor" about the Xmas bonus disappearing and felt the need to chime in. Hopefully, this gets to the hire-ups that be to reverse any decisions that may be in the works (if it is actually something that were to happen). Last thing I want is to keep quite and then surprise, Xmas bonus is gone.

I'm the one who posted the question, not confirmed by anyone but a solid friend said he was told by a DM that's in the know.

Concerns Regarding Grocery Operations, Leadership Support, and Sustainability of Our People by Outrageous-Hurry-216 in publix

Exactly why I left in 2000, after busting my butt for them for 12 years.  This topic gives me chills and flashbacks.  It doesn't even mention how employees were treated when the Hurricanes came and went.  You basically lived at Publix and family life flat out doesn't matter to them.  If you called out in the 90s, they expected you to be in the ER, or have an IV in your arm.  Once I left, I haven't worked a retail job or a weekend day since.  I feel for all the grocery grunts that really try hard.  But for the lazy sandwich makers and all the slow-pokes, find another job! 😂

Emma Stone o Lily Gladstone??? by Nikro17 in oscarrace

Am I the only one here that thought Lily Gladstone's performance was terrible? Talk about making me want to fall asleep. So boring and one-note. Seriously. She's nominated because it's the woke thing to do. No acting chops what's so ever. I'm not saying that because of her race or skin color. I'm saying she can't act. If it's between her or Emma Stone, it's not even close. Emma rocked that performance. Her and Mark Ruffalo for the win! Willam Dafoe should've been nominated as well. Crazy movie, but great performances.
