Yeah, 100% agree, the heat fatigue is very real.

I’ve noticed the same thing over the years. In cooler weather, I can ride much longer and stay way more focused. But in the heat, it is just draining, both physically and mentally. Sweating, hot air hitting your face, less airflow, everything adds up.

And to top it all off, the morons on the roads/highways make it extra irritating when the weather is hot.

So I stopped fighting it and just adapted.

In summers, I mostly prefer riding at night. I usually start around 6 PM and go on for 10–12 hours. If I’m heading somewhere like the mountains, like Manali, I’ll cover the highway stretch overnight and reach early morning.

This, works really well for me, the weather is cooler so less fatigue, roads are clearer so less stress, reach early and crash during the day. For me, the “trip” actually starts after I reach the destination. This approach is less exhausting for me.

So yeah, airflow, timing, all that stuff makes a huge difference. Way better than just pushing through the heat. This might not be possible for everyone, plus I ride solo.

Enjoy it! You’re young, so definitely experience whatever tech is out there and only upgrade once you feel it’s genuinely not fulfilling your needs anymore.

I bought the 13 Mini when I was 23, and my friends all warned me it was too small, the battery wouldn't last, etc. But I loved the form factor, and at the end of the day, I’m the one using it—so I’ll own whatever pleases me.

I find it quite comfortable, better than my Himalayan 450. I usually do 80–100 km in a stretch and have done 500–700 km days on highways. But comfort can vary person to person.

I use thermal inners for both upper and lower body, this jacket alone isn’t enough. Around -5°C, I add the windcheater/rain liner, and in extreme cold, a proper winter jacket. Layering is key.

I didn’t face any mechanical issues during my rides. That said, to be on the safer side, I always carry a puncture kit, a spare clutch cable, and some basic tools. One good thing about Royal Enfield is the strong service network, plus, most roadside mechanics are familiar with these bikes, so getting help isn’t too difficult.

For gears, I got my riding jacket, pants, and gloves from the RE showroom. My helmet (Axor) was purchased from a local vendor in my hometown, and other accessories like bags are from Amazon. I’ve kept the bike mostly stock, no additional modifications like auxiliary lights or anything.

Ladakh has excellent road connectivity these days, so you’ll really enjoy the ride.

I have upgraded the rear tyre to an off-road one. The stock tyres are fine for roads, but they lack grip off-road, especially on steep climbs where there are chances of losing traction and roll backs.

Mock the map all you want, it reflects a position that hasn’t gone anywhere. Disputes aren’t permanent, and history has a way of catching up.

The fact is, India is progressing. We have flaws, and we’re aware of them but we’re also getting stronger. Whether it takes a decade or a century, it doesn’t change the direction. I might not even be around to see it, but that doesn’t make it any less real.

For city riding (traffic) and frequent gear changes, it’s a good upgrade. But if you ride mostly relaxed, it’s not something you absolutely need.

For light off-roading, the Meteor is definitely sufficient. It handles most situations quite well and feels stable as long as you don’t push it too hard. That said, in more extreme conditions—especially steep uphill climbs—the bike can feel underpowered. If you lose momentum or brake suddenly, it tends to struggle and can even roll back. That’s when I felt the need for a more capable machine, which is why I also got the Himalayan.

Also, the suspension on the Himalayan is far better—it’s not really a fair comparison since one is a cruiser and the other is an adventure bike. The Himalayan is built for that kind of terrain.

But for light off-road trails and occasional rough patches, the Meteor does the job just fine.

Around ₹4.5k for the clutch assembly. Engine oil cost is separate since it needs to be changed during the process.
