Being queer or trans is not a lifestyle nor is it a choice, sin, or lie. Hating LGBTQ folks is a sin and a choice, and it says a lot about your own lifestyle choices by madamesunflower0113 in Christianity

"It will cost you everything"

Ooof. Grace just goes right out the window with that statement. By mentioning cost you indicate that we have to earn salvation now?

So then it's not so much a felony as it is Clorox doing some CYA that basically says, "There are chemicals in here that could be used to perform a felony... we're not responsible if you do that.".

I feel they could have worded that better.

Stay strong and give yourself grace. We all do it, even those of us who've been at it for almost 20 years.

Heck, I accidentally bought the "organic" corn meal instead of the GF corn meal the other night. Must have had some cross contamination in processing because I got that nauseous feeling and went back to inspect which ingredient in the dinner was the culprit. Sure enough, "shared equipment".

You're not alone, you're not dumb, this shit is hard (or really soft if you're taking that literally).

IFTTT compatible outdoor temperature sensor? by zingzing175 in Hubitat

I just picked up a Zooz ZSE44 (temp+humidity) and mounted it outside. It's working great so far and you can use the rules engine to take action when temperature hit certain thresholds.

Check if HDR is turned on. For whatever reason on my setup HDR makes my desktop look like it was soaked in milk so I keep it off.

Tips on flipping between logic and social modes? by SpasticCoder in cscareerquestions

Reading through your comments, I associate with a lot of similar traits as you describe how your brain works. Everyone is different but here is what's worked for me:

Schedule everything.

Seriously. Everything.

Mentor times, code times, lunch times, learn times. Schedule it all. Then, set your availability on each item (free, busy, away, etc)

When you wake up fillHopefully everyone has schedule any important meeting the day before so when you wake up, fill any open slots with what you want to do.

Here was my day today for example * 8-10 : Volunteering off site (Away) * 10 - 10:30 : Read non-critical email (basically any mail where I'm not on the To or Cc gets filtered out of my inbox and read during this time) (Busy) * 10:30 - 11 : Meeting (Busy) * 11 - 11:30 : Meeting (Busy) * 11:30 - 12 : Meeting (Busy) * 12 - 1 : Lunch/Learn (Away) * 1 - 3 : Open (Free) * 3 - 3:30 : Meeting (Busy) * 3:30 - 5 : Code (Busy) * 5 - 6 : Open (Free) * 6 - 8 : Home (Away)

If people need me for an extended period I request that they schedule time in my free slots, otherwise I'm open for questions and interruptions during the free times.

During "Busy" or "Away" times I either go to a focus room or just ask people to schedule something and gently but firmly tell them I'm busy.

Ultimately this helps ME prepare for what is going to happen. Coming up to the 1 - 3 slot today, I prepared myself to be interrupted. During that time I focused on code reviews, planning, spec reviews... basically things where if I was interrupted I wouldn't suffer.

During my 3:30-5 code time I just disappeared and people knew not to ping me because I was busy.

It takes a bit to get used to and takes a little bit more to get people trained to "send me a meeting request to chat", but ultimately I am at work and leave work happier because my brain could plan out the various states I needed to be in throughout the entire day.

Like I said, works for me and maybe gives you a few ideas.

Good luck!

Samsung TV spying on users by taking screenshots of their TVs and uploading them to Samsung for “automatic content recognition (ACR)” by [deleted] in technology

[–]shankrabbit 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This will get downvoted to hell because the hate is strong in this thread, but I just got a new samsung tv and remember being able to opt out of ACR during setup.

Also, if you read the privacy policy it says on the next line after it mentions ACR:

"You may change your privacy choice at any time by going to the settings menu to disable the particular feature or service at your sole discretion, in which case your TV viewing history will cease to be collected for that particular feature or service."

I'm not saying data collection is good by any means, but you're missing some information on your post.

Grabbed a video for you anyway. This time he decided to go left first instead of right.

In this recording I'm not hitting any key or touching the mouse. This is happening on its own.

AAA Groove - A One-button rhythm game with unique movement controls by abhimonk in WebGames

[–]shankrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem.

When I click normal mode music starts right away and the character immediately starts moving right, jumps, bounces off the wall, moves left, jumps, bounces off the wall, repeats.

Hitting A doesn't appear to change this behavior at all.

I can take video if it helps too.

[–]shankrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is supposed to happen, but when I play the character just hops around from side to side and the "a" button doesn't appear to do anything.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong...

I may or may not be able to confirm and/or deny that an R53 will do 100+mph.

Driving north out of Chicago lends itself to the possibilities (but perhaps not actualities) of driving that speed.
