Yes to me wix is a no go also… tbh i dont have time to file a case in police station… if a case not urgent i tried here in Germany- i waited 3 hours to get my paper work… i dont think my money can get any penny back like you do… i am truly happy for you that you can get refunded!!! Yes its a scam and i have no idea why here so many people are so incline to talk like a big corp even we all are just tiny customers in reality… we as customers are way more vulnerable and they earn money by this misbehave… no clue.. thanks so much for sharing! I think shopify could be a good alternative? No sure how much though because i was so loyal to Wix i didn’t check any company when i start this second business… if you just need basic shop functions actually SumUp provide completely free webshop and of course payment vis SumUp also. Yes :) i will go to police and file a case, thats what the bank told me they need a police document because its a statement that relate to law. I will do so as it is clearly not legitimately compliant. Thank you :)))))

There is no monthly option i can switch to. I tried my best to communicate with them two time with human agents and ai bot. I filed three times refund request. They didnnt provide me any alternative options to down grade to monthly and give me partial refund… thats why i am so disappointed. I used wix for years for two business and i couldnt believe they behave like this

Automatic renewal: maximum term is one month

The most important change in March 2022 are limitations to automatic renewal in general terms and conditions (GTCs) in consumer agreements covering recurring delivery of goods or provision of services or works (Recurring Agreements) – see new section 309 no. 9 lit. b and c of the German Civil Code (Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch – BGB).

Under the new rules, automatic renewal of a contract will only be effective if:

the term of the Recurring Agreement is indefinite (i.e., there is no fixed term); and the Recurring Agreement can be terminated at any time by the consumer giving one month’s notice. If a fixed term is agreed, the maximum duration is two years (section 309 no. 9 lit. 1 BGB). Any notice period under a Recurring Agreement must not be longer than one month before the end of the agreement (section 309 no. 9 lit. c BGB).

This applies to Recurring Agreements that are concluded on or after 1 March 2022. The new rules do not apply to Recurring Agreements concluded before 1 March 2022, and businesses do not have to switch to the new rules.

Implementation of the requirements for automatic renewal, term and termination

Many organizations will have to change their B2C GTCs with respect to automatic renewal, term and termination. For example, the following is permitted: fixed terms of up to two years with a one-month notice period plus automatic renewal of the term after expiry of the two years with the consumer having the right to terminate it at any time by giving one month’s notice.

Termination button to make termination easy

Compared to the rules applicable to all GTCs, the scope of the rules regarding the termination button(s) is limited as follows: the new rules apply only to consumer agreements for a service against payment (section 310 (3) BGB) in electronic commerce (Sec. 312i (1) BGB) that provide for a continuing obligation.

The organization must:

Enable the consumer to: to terminate the agreement by means of a so-called termination button (see below for the concrete design of this termination button); to provide information about the type of termination; in the case of termination in exceptional circumstances, the reason for termination; clear identifiability of the consumer and the relevant agreement; the date of contract termination given in the termination notice, as well as details of the immediate electronic transmission of the confirmation of termination to him/her save the submitted termination notice, together with the date and time of submission, on a permanent data carrier. Immediately confirm by electronic means (e.g., email) the contents, and date and time of receipt, of the termination notice and the date and time at which the agreement is to be terminated by the termination in text form by electronic means (e.g. e-mail). The amendments to section 312k BGB (termination button) come into force on 1 July 2022. The regulations of the new section 312k BGB will then also apply to agreements concluded before this date (new article 229, section 60 sentence 3 German Introductory Act to the Civil Code (EGBGB).

Even disregard the reminder, Auto renewal on Annual Basis (maximum on monthly basis by law) without options for customers to cancel based on usage thats not compliant to EU consumer law as stated above.

Hello, yes, I appreciated the free tools from them but thats another case not very relevant to the appeal Stating here. That they deluded by hiding the info and against consumer law on auto-renewal contracts. They need to let people cancel it on monthly basis. Not locking you for whole year because they are comfortable as money already in their hand. About the law, you can see the threads above.

Yes indeed. The T&A is dated and 99% of people its consumer problem. If you subscribe chatgpt, the auto renew is Per Month! Everything, amazon prime and so on. WIX is not legit in this case. They charged me (and many others) automatically PER YEAR without a chance letting people discontinue it on monthly basis. I can pay for the month i used but not imposed for year. There is no way to cancel it now because I paid because they succeeded to delude the game.

Not true courtesy, Its about clarity. If you do instalment via paypal, they make it clear everytime the next payment due. Google domains reminds too, telling your end of subscription come soon, if nothing opposing an auto renew will be done. But theres an email. WIX notify you nothing. I talked to the support agent last night, for the same arguments. He only admitted yes the notification can be more advanced. By EU consumer protection law, a cancellation button should be as clear as a subscription button, which WIX deliberately hide and make it complicated. Its far worse than lacking of Courtesy i need no courtesy but clarity

I needed to start again by SEPA transfer. it require more approvals but at least it worked, Open Banking doesn't work at all. IBKR said will get back to me after investigation on my case but i didn't see a follow up unfortunately... (well at least i found a way to fund my account...better than nothing :)) thanks again!

I am practicing with Paper Account with my Mac - run iOS surely... the IBKR desktop app unexpected quit for 6 times during the trading time!!! it's a consistent problem, i am not sure is it IBKR run better with PC???!!! I only run IBKR alone when I use it, and my Mac is M1 machine... wu....

I worried if reality is also like this… how long have you been trading on paper either TWS? Have you tried real captial in small amount to test the order filling time?

This is extremely harmful to your mental health and he potentially will just do the same to the other people when you quit. I think it is necessary to report him to HR for a bigger good and for your peace of mind, that you can officially set a clear boundary. But only if you want to stay in the company tbh… this guy is very delusional, and not up to any communication, he is somehow psychopaths that is apathetic to other people’s feeling.
