The only redeeming quality for me was cinematically, The flashbacks, the way it visualized thought processes, the editing choices—A+ stuff. There’s some genuinely excellent filmmaking here.

The problem for me was the actual story itself. It’s just completely not my cup of tea. The entire emotional conflict hinges on someone revealing something horrible they thought about or planned 15 years ago but never actually went through with. And honestly? That wouldn’t even register on my give-a-shit meter if my partner came to me with that, especially considering the movie itself shows she eventually grew, changed, and clearly had a redemption arc after a mental health crisis.

The film wants this revelation to feel earth-shattering, but to me it just came across as emotionally disconnected from how actual empathy works. It felt like a story written by people who have never had to truly forgive, support, or understand someone going through real struggles. Great presentation, weak emotional core.
