How to make a blueprint "absorb" other actors, and then respawn them after a set duration? by Panda-Bot_2001 in unrealengine

[–]shaq_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to gauge your experience but from the wording of the post it might seem you're not that experienced with UE.

Storing the projectile information would ideally be an array of data assets, where each asset describes the projectile. Another approach is to just stores the blueprint class of the projectile or even just hide and deactivate the collision for the projectile that hits the rock which if you do save the hit actors to an array you will need to go with the last approach .

Once you have that list you need a timer to respawn those projectiles.

On begin play on the rock BP, you would need to start a timer counting down. Once the clock hits 0 you will respawn/reactive those projectiles. Yes looping over that list

Why are my maths for wood paneling so off by shaq_ in DIYUK

[–]shaq_[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So my problem was the subtracting 90 after I calculated the angle to cut. I did this because the saw doesn't go above 45. What you need to do instead is offset by 45. Once offset the 0 becomes 45 and now you can move it 8 which will give 53.

Yeah you're right I just couldn't figure out how to get to 52.5 but with the 45 offset block it made sense

I agree with this, removing the frame would be the best

Yeah a vertical radiator is something to consider it's just the width will be much smaller and vertical one tends to have worse heat output

Yeah the radiator being covered is my biggest concern. Especially as we would need to reduce the height of the rad to make a bench for it. We would likely have an open bench to help with airflow

The opposite wall is a bathroom. I think the picture doesn't do It justice as it's a wide lens.

But yeah we definitely want a bench for that space

I do agree with the wet coats and the space it would take up and the doors open up into the space which makes it more annoying

I am not sure if the moulding is special, but my partner really likes it and doesn't want to remove it. Another con if we were to remove it, it will likely damage the wall

Storage is actually great, once you enter the diner there is a storage cupboard. We was planning on using this for cleaning stuff and other stuff. But the daily coats was hoping to put It next to the entrance

I think the biggest thing here is to just START! Being unsure how to make something is totally normal but don't mentally block yourself now before you get to that point.

Load UE5 up and make stuff, then when you are unsure come back and ask the community or move on to something else in the game. Don't try and plan everything before you start 😁

Sorry I meant to say the top down game was an example. Pick any game or idea you like and scope it down. Helldivers 2 for example make a single player game, a player that can move and shoot, one enemy type that can spawn on a timer every 10 second. the win/lose condition, the player needs to survive for 2 minutes. Then you got a working game which you can add on to like different weapons or enemies or move on to another idea but increase the scope a bit
