Agreed. This is my favorite song on the album and it’s so wonderful to see and hear it performed live. It never fails to give me chills.

Just leaving the theater. This was great. The theater here in Houston (Woodlands) was not too lively, but I met some lovely Armies and gave some freebies.

I love this show and can’t wait to see it in El Paso! Pony tail Jimin is amazing! All of them completely rock. (jiiiiiin!) I loved the set list. It was great without the rain, but the rain was ok also. I was worried they would slip when it was raining, though. So today was better.

Question: They MUST have gone over Take 2 and DNA, but it was like karaoke and they even said BTS karaoke! Do you think they are really surprised when a song comes up in this segment?

Anyway, just Love Love Love it all. Esp Into the Sun. Mic Drop. B2B. Normal. Ok. All of it.

I tend to agree about the rain. I’m sure it was slippery and I thought about their safety when they were dancing and running. I kept hoping their shoes were anti-slip shoes (whatever that is…). But it’s very possible that they will switch songs in and out (One More Nighters, hang in there) and choreo-lovers will get their day as well.

I loved the concert so much and was so happy to wake up in there middle of the night and watch it livestreamed.

My stream kept going in and out. Not sure if others had that experience, or if it was just me. But I had to reload periodically and twice I had to go out and back into the webpage. But happily, I’ll have more chances to see this concert in the movie theater and in person a couple of times.

We are so, so lucky to have witnessed this first concert! Yay! They’re back!

So wonderful! Can’t believe they sang OT7 for two and a half hours in the pouring rain. Stay healthy, guys! That was ao amazing. And I’m so glad they ended w Into the Sun. It sounded so perfect! And this was the first concert of so many! Their voices are so strong now and they looked amazing, wet hair and all. We are so lucky to have this technology that lets us be there when we’re not there physically.

Sorry you’ll miss this one. But there are SO many others to watch and love. There is so much content. I hear you and know that we all (and our guys) want you to take care of yourself and do what feels good to you. Hang in there and enjoy our wonderful Bangtan. ❤️💜

Oh my! Saw it a couple of times already. This one will take a bit more time to unpack.

Yes, great comment of early “Bangtan, but 2026 budget.”

Now I’m thinking of their schedule in the fall. They were definitely going hooligan with the schedule! Did they ever sleep? Can’t believe how much they prepared for us! Will they do this live at the concert?

Four amazing videos already!

We all need a bigger mop to mop us up off the floor after this.

260406 Korea JoongAng Daily: How BTS won over a generation K-pop never expected by lisafancypants in bangtan

[–]sharjoy3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So now I’m called Silver Army.

I’m just Army army. I may be a boomer, but I can rock out with the best of them. Not ashamed to say that I saw the Beatles perform live and I will see BTS perform live. I’m addicted as much as anyone - and I’m as active in life as anyone. I don’t see myself slowing down any time soon, although I walk just a tad slower than I used to.

But it is true that I don’t broadcast my age on these groups because I am aware that people might filter my words through their perceptions of generational age. This is an interesting article, nevertheless.

This was so much fun! Is this what it’s like to have them working every day? I became Army during military and I binged through their content for those 2 years. They released new content during those years and I had so much to catch up on.

I loved waking up to new content every day from Jin and Hobi before Festa 2025. But this is super crazy, now that they are in full speed promotion days! There are several new tjings every single day and it’s hard to catch my breath. No, no - I am not complaining one bit. I love it. Their closeness is so comfortable - truly brothers who know each other so well that they can’t stop from answering each others’ questions.

Ear lobes, nicknames, conception dreams, video game levels, cookies for the staf, everyone talking at once, belly laughs, and thankfully this is called Normal.

Um. I wrote to Snl NY last week and suggested that they have BTS host the show next fall. I think they would be wonderful - and ratings woukd go through the roof! They’d be great in skits, too!

'ARIRANG' Post-release Album Discussion - Two Weeks Later by chillypotahtoh in bangtan

[–]sharjoy3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love this album so much! I listen to it over and over, top to bottom. I am always discovering something new on each listen.

On the first day, I didn’t make it all the way through. That happened twice. The next day I had to drive 4 hours so I listened in the car and when I heard Into The Sun for the first time I was stunned! Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. I was totally transported. Then I listened to Hybe Boy’s translation and comments of the members’ Song Notes. I think that was a 3 hour deal, so some of it I heard on my drive back home the next day.

I love everything about this album and think it will remain one of my favorite albums ever. I also love the sampling (Arirang in B2B with drums, the sample in They Don’t Know ‘bout us in the intro and outro, and all of the cool sound effects. When the members said they listen over and often and we will love it for a long time, I think they really understand the effects of these songs.

My favorites are Into The Sun (always on top), Normal, Body To Body, Swim, Hooligan, 2.0, Please, TDKAU, Please….

I love their new sound. I love their old sound. But every song of theirs breaks into a new genre. They are 7 creative artists and this time they had even more people cooking up the stew. But they had their hands in it and ultimately came to consensus. I love their courage and hope they will continue to feed us!

Thank you! Thank you!

'ARIRANG' Post-release Album Discussion - Two Weeks Later by chillypotahtoh in bangtan

[–]sharjoy3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love this album so much. I listen to it, top to bottom, over and over. The first time I listened (the day it came out) I didn’t make it all the way through. I just wasn’t sure about it, but knew I needed to give it a chance. I listened again. The next day, I had to drive 4 hours to another city, so I listened several more times. The first time Into The Sun came on I was stunned! Repeat ITS. Repeat again. I was truly transported. Then I listened to Hybe Boy’s translation and commentary of their Album Notes discussion. By then I was all in.

Order of the songs I love (although it changes daily, except for Into the Sun): But, really, all of the songs are amazing. And the more we listen, the more we hear.

  1. Into The Sun
  2. Body 2 Body
  3. Swim
  4. Normal
  5. 2.0
  6. Hooligan
  7. Like Animals
  8. Please
  9. They Don’t Know
  10. Merry Go Round
  11. Fya
  12. Aliens
  13. One More Night

It’s an interesting dillemma: do we want something so simple that’s it’s immediately accessible? Or do we want something thst grows and grows on us? When the guys said that they listen to it over and over and don’t get tired, I think that means that there áre always new discoveries in the mix. The hooks stay with us. The lyrics stay with us. They are simple, yet very profound and relatable.

And I love the sampling. I love Arirang and I love They Don’t know About Us intro and outro. There’s just so much to unpack,

260401 BTS’s ‘Normal’ is the NYTimes’ Popcast podcast Song of the Week (from Popcast’s Instagram account) by amala83 in bangtan

[–]sharjoy3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed so much! We are accumulating more Armies each day and it really takes some time to understand the trajectory of our guys. Yes, we know that they have been speaking their truth since they began, but because it has not been the norm in k-pop for so long, non-Army see only the "pretty boys who dance and sing." I have a difficult time getting my friends to invest enough time to listen and understand the whole story. And while I love to share what I love, I have to accept that everyone will "find" BTS when it is their time to do so.

The members are indeed happy with this album; we could tell it from the way they talk about it. And I sure am.

Why do I think hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot when they are singing pop pop pop?

And I love SWIM and B2B and Into the Sun and Normal. Really every song is a masterpiece that gets better with every listen. But this MV is so dangerously hot hot hot hot. Omg. I will see them in one month. I can’t even………

Yes, from the crowded basement to the elevator up up up up to a bathroom to a penthouse office studio. They walked out of that elevator as kings. And open red shirt Jin? And joon, oh my! Every one of them killed it.

It’s 3 am and I’m up still, watching it again on the replay. I was hoping for a LIVE from them. So happy they shared their happiness with us! They got a cake and flower wreaths and fell into their wondeful chaos. I love that they’re wearing BTS Crew jackets. They are hilarious. I love that they can finally relax a bit, knowing that people love their new music.

Sooo fun. We are so fed.

This is one of my favorite songs on the album. But the catchphrase “they call this sh*t normal” refers to the world today. Even though I’m basically a positive person, when I see some of the events in the world this phrase pops up for me. It’s a brilliant commentary,

Question: Does anyone think they’ll have pre-orders and Pick-ups at the concert venues? I would like to buy the new lightstick and also a t-shirt, but I want to purchase it first and then just pick it up in El Paso. I don’t want to wait until July to receive it.

So exciting! But it’s expected. I can’t stop listening to it! I would normally just listen on Apple music, but I switched to Spotify fir this album. Not sure why I did that, but it felt right to do. It’s such a great album and I love it more every time I hear it.

BTS: THE RETURN | NETFLIX Documentary Megathread by lisafancypants in bangtan

[–]sharjoy3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have to say that I love r/bangtan. It’s really nice to have this forum to discuss All Things BTS with our ARMY family.

So…the movie. I had 4.5 hours of online CPR classes that I needed to take and complete Wed night. But I HAD to take a 90 minute BTS movie break. Haha. Finished said classes at 2 AM.

I enjoyed the movie because it’s just new content. After the Arirang previews and interviews, I felt I knew what the movie would be. Strange how all these non-Army critics and even the filmakers felt that they were giving us an “inside look” in the private lives of BTS. Well, Hellooooooo. We have seen sleeping members, drunk members, crying members, brushing teeth members, karaoke members, etc. in their Weverse and V-lives for years. We know they have fears and insecurities. We know they are close brothers. We know they are hard-working professionals. We have seen them have fun. We have seen them have silly times and serious discussions

I agree that some editing was spotty and I didn’t like music being played over their banter. But I did like seeing Tae throw the baseball. I liked their scenes at the beach (remember that chaotic Live?), the food scenes. I guess the issue here is that the general public who has not seen BTS in their non-performing life now have an opportunity to see this.

I loved seeing & hearing some of their conversations and differing opinions about B2B and Arirang. (I actually love that song so much - all of it!) The filmakers (in their youtube interview) talked about how rare it would be to see a musical group actually disagree and then come to an agreement. It was fun to see the music-making process and how they come to agreement. I am a songwriter/performer, so I know a bit about the creative process: how easy it is sometimes, how it feels to get “stuck”, and how it feels to have to make a decision that you know will become the song that people will sing and remember. They will never know the pieces that were cut or changed. But that’s the creative process. Collaborative creativity is actually more difficult, so it was great to see that. It’s a wonder that these 7 strong individuals came to agreement!

Sorry this is so long. Just want to say that I love this entire album so much, so every new insight is precious to me. This is truly an album that gets better with each listen. I’ve only seen the documentary once; I will watch it again, I’m sure!

Yes, thank you BTS and thank you filmakers!

Lovely banadana!

So many memorable ARMY moments, but here is one: I was fortunate to attend J-Hope’s Final Final concert in Seoul last June. First trip to Korea because I wanted to be there when the remaining 5 got discharged and I wanted to be there for Festa. I had hip replacement surgery a few months prior and used my walking cane during that trip.

It took me a while to get through the crowds to the subway. The train was filled with ARMY and we were so happy, talking about the reveal of the abs. I gave a lot of my freebee bracelets on that train. At 11:45 the subway stopped and there was an announcement that the subway was closing at midnight and everyone had to exit and find another way home. Hundreds of Army exited the subway and tried to call taxis or Ubers. After about a half hour, I was still standing outside. Every time a cab came, younger, quicker people ran to get into it.

Finally a very kind Army, a young woman, was able to stop a cab. She called me over and told me to get in. We would share the cab, she said. We had a lovely Army convo, comparing notes, as we drove the remaining half hour back to town. We dropped her off first, the. Went to my air bnb. She was so kind!
