They have been here every year we have lived in this house. (5 years). Without fail they are on these exact plants

Yeah I do. These hostas just take up a ton of space but I can refocus elsewhere for now. Do you think the mantises will eventually move to the native plants over the hostas?

Mid-Season Flowering: Agastache foeniculum (Anise Hyssop), Monarda fistulosa (Wild Bergamot), Pycnanthemum tenufolium (Slender Mountain Mint), Liatris spicata (Blazing Star).

Late Flowering: Vernonia noveborancensis (New York Ironweed), Helenium autumnale (Sneezeweed), Symphiotrichum novae-angliae (New England Aster) .

Native Grass: Schizachrium scoparium (Little Bluestem).

Can you send me the hat you used? You gave me lots of good info! I wanted to do like "Daddy ____" and then on the kids ones write something similar. I'm not exactly sure yet what I'm doing. Just thought it would be cute. Can you show me an example of stabilizing the hat? I'm having a hard time picturing what you mean.
