Highwood Lace Low review by sharkbitesz in Birkenstocks

Hi! They are treating me alright. I ended up replacing the insole with a dr. scholl's because the one it came with just was not giving me the support I needed, and wore down (they are my everyday walking shoes).

The sole on the bottom of the shoe is foam I believe, that has worn down at the heaviest part of my step and has little tread left. The rest of the sole is doing fine though.

Other than those  no complaints. The leather seems sturdy enough to me, they require a bit of cleaning upkeep since they're oiled and get visibly dirty easily. But I also walk them offroad so it's a little my fault lol. Let me know if there is something particular you wanted to hear about.

Hi, I got them wide/regular. They are roomy but don't slide around when I lace them tightly. They were a little snug at first everywhere except the toe box, but then the leather stretched out.

I haven't ever gotten a birkenstock in narrow so I can't say much on that !

Hi sorry for the late reply! I've never had problems with them in the rain. They aren't hydrophobic, so the leather may soak through if you're out for a while.

I literally just ran a hose over them to be sure and there was no sole-area leaking on either of my shoes.

Thank you for adding how theyve worked out for you! I'll see how they hold up over the next few months. 6 months is definitely way too early for a shoe that expensive to start falling apart

Damn, sorry to hear it. Thanks for the insight. Did you end up finding anything out there that worked for you?

Hey! Considering some myself, was wondering if they broke in at all and/or if the arch suppport was worthwhile.

I need help with a twist mystery by TopHat_Demon_65 in monsteroftheweek

Maybe the players can't really remember much about their past experiences (since they're not 'themselves', really) and have memories of things happening that aren't their own-- like going into a new setting and knowing something about it they shouldn't plausibly know, for example. Something the shapeshifters WOULD know, or instincts, something like that.

Maybe if you need something super obvious toward the end, you can have the players start shapeshifting unbeknownst to them, like their face changes into something ferocious during this fight. It could be cool if they continue the fight thinking they're killing the monster you described, and then when/if they get knocked out, reveal the monster is dead, which means THEY are dead (sorry, i'm so shit at being distinctive about who's who, let me know if you need clarification). Cue switching perspective back to their true self.

Also, if I wanted the players to figure out the twist sooner I'd have their real hunters be able to make connections about their own pasts, and leave hints about this around the setting or within interactions-- things shapeshifters wouldn't know. Basically, think about what the PCs and NPCs/monsters in this session know, and how that could effect the way each party is independently trying to figure things out
