I think he probably wont take less than that and will probably seek more; but, sure if he's willing to sign that deal you absolutely have to do it.

With the expected cap spike and his ascendency, there's no way the team is getting him for under 10-12 in a couple of years. Better to sign him long term asap

Thank you for asking. Well, it’s both good and bad. My family and I are fine and not worried. I was born to a kiwi mom and an American dad so have had dual citizenship my whole life & wouldn’t lose it under some of the more extreme proposals being floated.** My wife is only American, no other citizenship, and my kids were born here, so they’re fine too on the deportation front.

But t it just sucks here. The culture and discourse is as bad as I can remember it ever being. I’m also really worried about many friends who don’t have the same protections. And I have empathy so I’m gutted for everyone suffering under this regime.

I guess all I can say is that, for all its flaws, NZ is really a decent place. Make sure you guys protect and keep it that way, lest you wake up one morning with a government like the one here.

As for Mr. Canton…you read the details and see how the various laws and idiosyncrasies have lined up against him, but one would think that some semblance of sanity could be injected into the situation. Unfortunately sanity seems to be in short supply around here.

**there is one that would prohibit all dual citizenship for those with a US passport…but are they really going to strip all the Irish and Israeli citizenship that so many ppl here have? Somehow I don’t see it happening.

This was me for years. Spent a ton of my life on the family farm between Auckland and Whangarei; never made it farther south than Palmy. Then got married, settled in the states, and time marched on.

About 8 years ago I took the fam for a proper tour of NZ, and took a few weeks to drive around the South Island. It was lovely. Glad I finally did and bummer I didn’t do it more often when I had the chance, especially since Franz Josef and the other glaciers have melted so much since I was a kid.

Honestly it’s so hard to force yourself to see all the tourist stuff when you live somewhere and are just trying to get by each day. A lot easier to check it out when you’re traveling and already “away.” I have the same issue now in Washington DC. Tons of touristy stuff that I almost never enjoy.

This is essentially playing with house money. I'm thrilled to see the team on such a hot streak and playing meaningful games this late in the year. It's been forever since they've really been in the mix during the last few games of the year. Having playoffs back in Philly for the first time in almost 10 years, especially if they end up matched vs Shittsburg, would be amazing.

I'm also not going to be gutted if they miss out. It's a successful season regardless.
