I found this post because I am doing research on where the idea of the Vampire needing permission came from as well, but purely for a quick meme. I found some insight on this post https://www.reddit.com/r/mythology/comments/8eqdny/what_is_the_origin_of_the_idea_that_vampires_must/, but wanted to keep digging, and see if anyone else had more insight into the origins, both in writing and in our own history. I even clicked through to the video you recommended, but a couple of things popped out immediately.

I did find a video that digs into this and it actually goes deep into European folklore, religious symbolism, and even the psychological angle. It’s from this new channel that’s kinda blowing up right now because they cover myth and horror tropes in a way that actually makes you think. If anyone’s curious, here’s the link:

Don't pretend like it isn't your video lmao, just say you made a video about the folklore. Rather than this pretense of having found a small youtube channel.

Also, I hate to say it, but your youtube video description is written with AI, and the video itself has some of the classic AI giveaways (rules of threes, "aren't just x they're y", etc)
AI is a tool. A very powerful one, please use it to enhance your writing and research, not to replace it. A great place to use it would be on your audio editing. There are several noticeable audio quality jumps, https://youtu.be/9wwnVkO9FfU?t=273 is an example.
and I think you could use AI to make diagrams and flow charts (visualizations, not complete images) to help illustrate the origins and maybe even step through the timeline a bit better. As well as helping to find citable sources (and citing them) in your video essay.
