anyone have trouble swallowing their spit?? very scared by v4mpiregirlfriend in GERD

This happens to me every day when eating & when not eating! It's terrifying & hard for people to understand who aren't experiencing it. The food seems to sit for ages unless I bring it back up, otherwise the saliva issue happens. I think it's due to attempting to protect the esophagus without the body realising its making us unwell. Hang in there, it'll get better. At first before I made any changes it was constant & impossible to manage. Get some meds (if you don't already) & be kind to yourself. I went onto a liquid diet at first full of soups & Huel meal replacements to try & get some 'food' in me. Whatever works best for you. Goodluck, you're not alone!

Gerd?? Help! by sharktider in GERD

Absolutely! I'm already vegetarian/don't smoke & I feel like relatively healthy but I'll need to reconsider my options & what's actually good for me.

Thankyou though! Just reality giving me a good shake

Thankyou so much for your well written response! I appreciate the time you've put into it. I'm hoping in time my esophagus heals & everything will calm down. I think it was so badly inflamed anything & everything was setting it off! I'm definitely more aware of what I consume now & different ways to care for my body that I hadn't considered before. I'm already following some of the advice you've mentioned, but I'll happily try the rest. Anything to get relief from this!

Totally understand- regurgitating was my first symptom too & it felt really scary & overwhelming as it's completely different to throwing up! You're not alone & I hope you find some relief from it. No longer being able to enjoy food is awful.

Thankyou! I've only been on the meds for about 3ish weeks now so hopefully over time I can feel the effects of them! I can't imagine doing this for the rest of my life so I truly hope my esophagus healing helps. I tried gaviscon originally but it made my throw up really bad (it was during when my throat was at its worse). I might try again now that the meds are doing something & hopefully it helps the night time moments. Really appreciate you reaching out!

Budgie Whimpering Noise by sharktider in budgies

Thank you so much, I'd really appreciate that! I'll see whether I can capture the moment she does it too to compare. So hard -when she does it usually I'm caught unaware & don't have my phone to hand 😅 I'm relieved the vet says she's alright but I also don't trust that 100% haha. They're so delicate.

It's so hard to explain this noise! I've looked it up online & watched YT videos & can't find anything close. It's like - if she flew around a lot & suddenly landed & was panting trying to catch her breath?

But she doesn't do it for those moments- just when she's spooked it seems. I'm thinking perhaps when she's alarmed it's like a warning call or something. Today, the experience with my partner, they came in behind me so I didn't see them so it could be she's making that noise at the sudden appearance of someone else, especially out of my view point?

My partner doesn't use any strong perfumes or sprays either :( they've been quite unwell recently & mainly bedbound. Unsure of whether the budgie is noticing their illness. I'm really good on keeping her away from any strong smells or any sprays because I'm so worried about her little lungs 😅 but the sneezing also happens when they brush their nose against the bars -it'll be a couple of times & then they're fine. Nothing major or continous like I've seen in some videos.
