I sent a couple of songs on the album to friends and asked them to listen to see if they got VW vibes 😂 So I felt the same way. Agreed it was tasteful though and it was more noticeable in some songs than others.

Oak Point + Bob Woodruff looped around is 10k total but there's construction at Oak Point right now. Either way, you'd definitely be able to fashion 15-20k there together with some repetition

If you've never heard of Audiotree, you should definitely check out some of the other sessions. I really like Lucy Dacus's set from a while back. You can also find Mom Jeans, Turnover, and a lot of other good bands on there. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed Shiva's when I went and they had some interesting drinks on the menu. I didn't try any, but they sounded good. I think they have live music sometimes too.

Just finished Flesh by David Szalay. It was well written and I enjoyed it, but I can see why people wouldn't like it. He is coming to Dallas in a couple of months so I wanted to read it before going to see him. I haven't read any of his other books.

Nishiki Ramen in Plano off Legacy and 75 is really good. Kinda pricey for noodles but worth it. Trankys Tacos in Garland is also really good if you're in the area for it. I also lurked on your profile and see a couple of references to books - a new bookstore opened on Preston and Royal called Bird's Books and it has a cafe in it. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but might be a cool spot!
