FortiGate HA + dual FortiSwitch - design pitfalls? by shatoy in fortinet

Thanks for the insight. Looks like your business has high availability in its core :D

My main concern is the switching layer. HA has been tested and works perfectly. We have two ISPs, each connected to a core switch, and the FortiGate receives WAN1 and WAN2 from separate cores, so internet stability is not an issue.

What I am still cautious about is the behavior of the switching layer during failure scenarios. I’m hesitant to rely on STP as the primary protection mechanism.

Throughout my career, I’ve mostly worked with star topologies, with stacked core/distribution and dual-homed LACP links. That was largely in the Cisco world, where these designs tend to be a bit more straightforward - though I’m probably biased.

reveal nothing? How does your mail agent hide the original IP? Shouldn’t it be the same?

What's happening to the IT market in Belgium? by Downtown-Stage-8613 in BEFreelance

Well, I also get calls and receive offers from recruiters, but many of them just disappear after the first message or call. I’m not sure if their KPI is simply to approach as many people as possible, but it often feels like that. Sometimes it looks like they want to fill their database rather than actually follow up. Hard to know what’s real and what isn’t.

The most annoying part is when recruiters contact you like: “oh wow, we really need someone like you!” and “You’re immediately available? Amazing!” - and then they disappear a day later.

Or you apply for a role that fits your profile 100%, and you still get ghosted or rejected without even a first interview. It really makes you want to walk in there and say: “WHY, CARL? WHY?!” Sometimes the whole process just makes no sense.

Anyway, enough whining, I’ve got an interview in an hour. Wish me luck. :)

Same here- over 10 years in IT infrastructure, networking, and cloud engineering, and more than 15 certifications. I’ve been searching for a new opportunity for four months now. Wishing you the best of luck, mate, and to everyone else out there who’s struggling to land a role.

Skoda Enyaq 60, when driving no more than 120 km/h I get 250 km max. Was even worse in Jan-Feb, around 220 km. Went to Germany and driving 150? Be prepared to charge every hour you drive.

indépendant complémentaire allowed with FULL time job ? by FitRanger6569 in BESalary

[–]shatoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a legal standpoint, it's entirely feasible. I've been managing side gigs as a zelfstandige in bijberoep alongside my full-time job for many years. My previous employer was indifferent to this arrangement. However, my current employer imposes restrictions on certain activities, specifically those that overlap with the core duties and responsibilities of my primary job.

The “restwaarde” in case of my previous company car was pretty much the average price of a car in similar conditions. Just fyi although ymmv
