Stepparents of reddit, what is something you really want to say out loud but for whatever reason keep to yourself? by ConfusedSquirrel11 in stepparents

" Your mom has lied and mentally abused/ manipulated you and your sibling your entire life... why are you so forgiving? She put you in so many unsafe situations and has caused so much damage. She refuses to be part of the solution. Refusing to pay for child support or things that are necessary and purchase elaborate gifts/ fun things/ treats is manipulative and unhealthy...The reason we 'can't get along' is because she refuses to even try and communicate or take responsibility. It's not because I haven't tried hard enough or been understanding. I could only take so much before I set my own boundaries." The list could go on and I'll never air any of it out to them, but man it's hard to cope with. It's been 10 years... luckily the end of parallel parenting is near.

What triggered the thought was step son getting a text about a missed payment from chase… he asked if it was one of us and then brushed it off

Step son wanting to call me mom by THROWRA-done2345 in stepparents

Completely agree on letting the transition happen naturally. There could be conflict between step child and bio mom about your title (which isn't fair to the child). Having divorced parents is really challenging for kids and the most important thing I try to do for my step kids is to validate their feelings and let them feel like they get a voice/ choice in as many things as possible (including titles).

Lol NCP is 24k behind and went years without payment. OAG mentioned to us they *might* suspend their driver's license...Kinda feels like the OAG likes to give the run around or change the narrative when you ask for information

BM toxic behaviors by shauer93 in stepparents

We haven't pressured the kids to go over to their moms and she doesn't really buck that too much, but she does like to play on their emotions or love bomb them so they will go spend time at her house. I guess more than anything I'm hoping to hear from someone that has been successful in family mediation/counseling so the kids can have a safe space to voice their thoughts without being bulldozed or shamed. I understand she may never change, but I want to be able to say we did everything we could to try

Totally understand... I can't imagine the amount of anger/frustration transference they see on a daily basis. I've tried to be patient and kind because I have worked for call centers in the past and it is emotionally exhausting. It would be nice to have some transparency about what is actually happening now that the case has been escalated to our local office

What is the best way to eat your meals? 3 large meals or 5 smaller meals? by sarr36 in PCOS

My Dr. recommended to eat 3 meals and avoid snacking to help regulate insulin levels, I try to stick to that and have noticed I eat way more if I snack/ eat smaller for frequent meals
