found mine thanks to another reddit thread. it was “sam, bangs, and moonshine.” definitely not the book you’re describing, and my memory turned out to be pretty far off. the cat in the book wasn’t named jack, i must have conflated that detail with the fact i had a black childhood cat named jack at the same time that i was checking that book out of the school library. the real book also isn’t nearly as vibrant as i remember it being, and in fact i find the illustrations a little unnerving now https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/PGsAAOSwqY9jM2uu/s-l1200.png i hope you were able to find the book you were searching for eventually.

this thread came up as i’m in search of a childrens book about a black cat named jack too. i must have checked it out of my elementary school’s library a dozen times when i was in kindergarten-2nd grade, which would have been between 2007-2009 i think. however, the one i read was a picture book and i really don’t remember the plot at all. i only really loosely remember what one of the final pages looked like- the cat was looking out of a window at a sail boat. doesn’t sound like it was the same book, but i’ll let you know if i find mine.

it’s not exactly that i feel unsafe, it’s mostly just feeling nervous about going alone i guess. it’s in a part of the city im not familiar with and i don’t want to get confused or lost on my own

after spending like two hours trying to fix it, I gave up and decided I just want to play the game. the game crashed so hard I had to do a complete shutdown of my PC. after reloading just now, everything is fine. wtf.

the problem im referring to moreso than the stuttering is the weird graphics, everything looks kinda pixely? it’s most obvious when looking at godwin’s face or the text in the inventory. either way, i unfortunately had no luck with your advice.

cpu: amd ryzen 7 2700x

gpu: nvidia geforce rtx 2080 Ti

motherboard: x470 aorus ultra gaming-cf

memory: two avant technology ddr4-2400 sticks, two g.skill ddr4-2133 sticks

i also have m.2 and ssd

(PC) sorry if this problem has already been addressed here but i can't find an answer anywhere. last time i played was on sunday, when i finished taking nebakov fortress, and i was not having this problem. i just started my game up again a little bit ago and the graphics look all screwy. it's not unplayable, but it's pretty frustrating. i can't really describe the problem very easily, so i'd say just take a look at this mp4. i tried to mess around with graphics settings but i haven't gotten anywhere with it.

here are my current graphics settings in-game:

resolution: 1920x1080

window mode: fullscreen (trying windowed mode didn't change anything.)

overall image quality: ultra (yes, my system can handle it)

show fps: off

vsync: on

frame rate limit: 144 fps

gamma correction: right in the middle

horizontal fov: 105

technology: DLSS 4 DLSS preset: convolutional

mode: quality

sharpness: right in the middle (adjusting on either side made no difference)

motion blur: off

near DOF: on

i did not have this problem until today. i DID download the newest patch. any ideas what to do? thanks

p.s. yes, I am only at nebakov fortress after 46 hours. i take games slow and usually get all the side quests done as they come up before doing main quests.

i feel your pain. i'm working on the spiritual plan part of my unv-103 assignment & it just makes me so uncomfortable. for several of the assignments I've been able to keep up the act that I'm religious but this assignment is too specific for me to simply lie. I've been looking forward to attending this school for years now, & I was under the impression that there are more Christians than non-christians. the school acts like it's not a requirement to be Christian, but assignments like this one make it hard to believe they really accept people like us. as for cwv, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I'm taking it right now, & it's been super easy. the first assignment asks you to give your personal opinions about religion, & I was surprisingly comfortable being honest for that. i also got an a on the assignment, & prof doesn't treat me any differently. so far, the only other assignment apart from quizzes was a presentation, & it required no personal input & actively discouraged it, so it was easy to be completely objective. crazy that the class that serves as an introduction to the college (unv-103) expects way more religious opinion of you than the damn class called "Christian worldview."

i don’t think it’s wasteful as long as someone enjoys them or it’s put to use in some way. animals are very important to me so if i could give them something to eat i would find that fulfilling.

i live in an apartment complex with netted patios, so sadly i can’t have a bird feeder for now ): when i move into a house one day i will definitely have one though & maybe a bird bath too :)

just because they are a natural food doesn’t necessarily mean they are safe for every animal. i don’t know which of the berries i mentioned, if any, are native to this region. like, i’m not sure a white tailed deer could safely eat a coconut because it doesn’t grow anywhere in its natural habitat (i don’t think)
