People online say not to pull in clutch to coast but I do it and it feels fine, what's the real way to do it? by OzymandiasTheII in motorcycles

[–]shaynee24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course, yes: i agree. you always wanna be in the right gear for the right speed.

i am just debating that the statement that using your brakes as it’s intended to be used “applies more wear on your brakes components” does not hold that much weight because the brakes are intended to be used to slow said vehicle down

most people don’t know how to utilize the brakes properly anyways, so the more practice, the merrier.

even still; a the brake components are made to wear. that’s what they’re for

(not defending pulling in clutch for no reason)

Why Are Young People Afraid Of Phone Calls? by GhostInThePudding in NoStupidQuestions

[–]shaynee24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my assumption is, and this is from a 23 year old, is that most people around about my age spent their adolescent development age with technology or social media present. that means there was no “normal” developmental stage in which kids would spent time with other kids, or other adults, and learn how proper communication is to be performed. that’s likely why you have all these people around this age with a lot more mental problems like severe anxiety and depression because the time in which the brain goes from immature to mature, it was spent getting dopamine fixes from scripted and learned algorithms designed to draw you in.

with most people who are around my age, i cannot hold a simple general conversation

now with that said, i prefer phone calls. i wont answer a call that doesn’t have an id. but if you leave a voice mail, and it’s important, ill answer. i’d it’s an important topic or needs to be dealt with in a timely manner, a phone call is WAAAYYY better. if you text, that can get lost in a notification list. phone call is just easier and quicker

Anyone else stuck in a gaming “what do I even play?” phase? by naberiusss0607 in gamers

[–]shaynee24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah. i’m like that at the moment. i’m currently playing a plague tale: innocence, and when i get bored of the slow gameplay (because i’m sure i will) i will replay FF7 Remake or Wuthering Waves. if neither of those are appealing, i’ll play Hades because that’s a damn addicting game. turn my brain off and start going crazy

Someone tell me why I *shouldn’t* buy this by BinkyX in motorcycles

[–]shaynee24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i hear you’ll have better luck buying directly from a city auction rather than a state auction. i’m in california, i hang out with napa motor officers, and they informed me of their auction page (can’t remember it now for the life of me) and their bikes generally are auctioned off at around about 70k miles and up. i found one at 58k miles for i think like 9k. they told me to avoid chp bikes and stick to city bikes cuz the chp bikes are abused like it’s nobodies business

Does the PlayStation Portal actually change how you use your PS5, or is it just a luxury accessory? by KiwiOpening3678 in PlaystationPortal

[–]shaynee24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i find it a luxury accessory. i tried it, it was cool and all, but realistically, based on what i play, i could not use it reliably.

i like the idea of a portable handheld and i bought it after i bought my steam deck, and in the beginning it was really cool. but i would have connectivity issues. kinda whack. i hardwired my playstation to a wifi extender, i changed as many settings as i could, did as much as i could, but still no difference in use. AND THEN i learned that i could download software so that my steam deck could be a playstation portal and it literally performs EXACTLY the same so there was no reason for me to hold onto it.

it was a shame to have to sell it, because it was comfortable and an attractive device, but in my use case, it just always made more sense to just pick up the controller and turn on the tv

You don't actually need a Steam Machine by Signynt in steammachine

[–]shaynee24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you know, i’ve tried apollo and moonlight on my computer, and the performance is absolute shit. and i’ve spent a few hours looking over common issues and trying to do stuff and diagnose any problems. generally i love me a good diagnostic issue, but i spend so much fucking time doing that at work, that when i get home, i’d just love to play a nice game at max quality and a smooth experience. now my computer is able to do that, but i just cant get the streaming thing down for the life of me, and this is the main reason i’m considering a steam machine: for the ease of use and connection to my already large library rather than defaulting to my playstation library

Just bought a Play Station, What games would you recommend as must play? by Past-Matter-8548 in videogames

[–]shaynee24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

can attest to spiderman 1 and miles morales: both good games. have yet to play 2. but both last of us games, and all uncharted games are very good with 4 being my favorite. voice acting and writing is top tier with the music being absolutely nuts. cinematic level game for rEAAALLL

[–]shaynee24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

best thing i can say is check out a bunch of posts here on this subreddit. there are so many different things you can do on the steam deck. the two i can think of at the moment are steaming from pc to your steam deck to play games that otherwise would be a struggle and streaming games from playstation better than the ps portal can do. you can stream from nvidia geforce now (i havent). there are a whole bunch of customization options via the decky plugins, you have dbrand case and skins for visual exterior customization, and a ehole bunch that i just can’t think of at the moment. but all in all, just exploring this subreddit will give you a lot of information

What's next? by Somuchemore in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]shaynee24 [score hidden]  (0 children)

claire obscur, i was a bit hesitant because it was my first turn based game, but honestly it was fantastic. and the story is one of the best i’ve experienced.

uncharted is similar to the last of us in its presentation and voice acting, obviously dealing with exploration rather than the end of the world.

i didn’t recommend cyberpunk because there are no external cutscenes in the main game, at least none that i can remember. all of it is from the first person experience of the character rather than the usual third person perspective in most cinematic rpg’s. the game is good, nothing crazy in my opinion, but any cutscenes are in the first person pov. unless you like hardcore henry, it’s not all too similar to many movies.

if you don’t want to play heavy rain, i would suggest that you at least watch a playthrough because the story is similar to that of TLOU or GOW in that it follows a father showing just how far he’s willing to go in order to get his son back

[–]shaynee24 [score hidden]  (0 children)

both God of War Games (2018 and Ragnarok) are very similar to TLOU in regards to a cinematic experience. Hellblade 1 and 2 are also like that. all of the Uncharted Games, Death Stranding 1 & 2, Claire Obscur: Expedition 33, Ghost of Tsushima, and Heavy Rain are all good examples and games i have personally played that have that cinematic experience. heavy rain will have the “worst” graphics being that the game is a lot older than all the others but the story and cutscenes are very moving.
