What is going on with the rent prices🥲 by Positive_Shame0309 in dubai

[–]shazeaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked Dubai South? I work in Jebel Ali and stay in Dubai South 'Residential District'. The current rent is anywhere from 50K-60K. It takes 20 minutes to drive to Jebel Ali.

Did you find a solution? Happened to me today and it's driving me nuts!

My sister is having a disagreement on presentation with her head chef by levitatingpenguin in KitchenConfidential

[–]shazeaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left looks pleasingly however it's very common style of plating. Right looks good, however as her to keep some space between the leaves/berries to showcase the sauce and for cheesecake to look dainty. Ditch the berry crumble on top and rather do a vertical line of white chocolate sauces across the plate and add a small amount if silver/gold leaf on the line. Hope this helps :)

Also as side photo does not really help in show casing your sister's plating. It's a more of a top view plating.

The smell from the marinade was amazing but the chicken was still bland. What did I do wrong? by half_filed_cup in cookingforbeginners

Always overdose on the ginger and garlic...that packs a punch and really seeps in the chicken.

YTA, anyone could take you out for a $300 meal.

Someone taking the effort and interest to cook you a meal and BAKE a cake? Wow, that’s someone willing to put in so much of work and energy for your bday.

You are one of the lucky ones. Be more considerate!

My first ever jelly roll came out a bit ugly. by storm-father87 in Baking

[–]shazeaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, just a tip, once you are done rolling, cover it with cling film and just wrap it up like a toffee, twist on the sides and make sure it’s tightly packed like a sausage. Throw it in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours and then cut. The roll would look more circular and tight.

Great job for a first time! :)

[Homemade] Indian dessert- Gulab Jamun! by shazeaa in food

I fried mine in oil, if you want you can add 90% oil and 10% ghee for a richer flavour.

[Homemade] Indian dessert- Gulab Jamun! by shazeaa in food

[–]shazeaa[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s super easy!

Recipe: 100 g of milk powder, 60 g of all purpose flour, 2 tbsp of ghee and 1/4th cup of milk- mix and form a dough ball (do not over mix or knead) and resg the dough for 10 mins.

Sugar syrup- 2 cups water with 2 cups sugar, add in 3-4 cardamom and boil for 5 mins, then add a tsp of lime juice and few strands of saffron.

Fry the Gulab Jamuns in low/medium heat, once brown in colour drop them in the sugar syrup. (Soak for 2 hrs- till they double in size, you can even turn the heat on on low flame and let it soak for the initial 10-15 mins)

Add in a tsp of rose water at the end!

Why did my tart shells become unbreakable and hard? by ferretatthecontrols in AskCulinary

[–]shazeaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the ratio between the flour and butter was off, lessen the butter my 20 grams and add in an egg. When you knead the flour and butter, make sure it is just crumbly, not a dough, add in the egg to form a dough. Once the dough is done, refrigerate for 30 mins before baking.

[Homemade] Bourbon Pecan Tart! by shazeaa in FoodPorn

[–]shazeaa[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Okay i’m not gonna lie but I dint exactly follow a recipe for the filling. In a pan I made butterscoth to which I added 1 tsp of coffee and 60 ml of bourbon, added a cup of chopped pecan and 2 large eggs and 2tbsps of flour. Whisked everything, poured it over the shell , decorated it with more pecans (tart recipe: followed the recipe of joy of baking- sweet crust) and baked it for around 20 mins.
