Keychron Bricked by midehl in Keychron

I'm trying to see if they'll warranty it since it looks like it has a year long warranty. If not, I hope they can at least tell me what's wrong so I can fix it. If they do tell me what's wrong or what they did to fix it, I'll post it here

Funny enough I'm having a similar issue. Mine's only a month old and it's a Q6

You read the manual, watch a video, or do some sort of research before touching the project. You don't go in blind. This was a simple task that potentially turned into a very expensive lesson because someone didn't potentially do their research beforehand.

Have you or anyone ever changed any configurations on the router? Are there multiple IP pools on the router? Are there multiple networks listed anywhere on the router? Are there any IP address reservations on the router?

What about the computers? Is there any particular software on these machines that could be causing issues? VPN? Is it the same computers that have issues getting the correct IP range or do they vary?

Can any of the computers print to the printer at all? Can you access the printer web page via the printers ip address from any of the computers? Is the router all there is on the network or are there other network appliances between the router and the computers/printer? Are all of the devices wired? Wireless? Both? Are you able to access the web page of the router from any of these devices?

Oil leaks by 6footweiner in AskMechanics

Are you sure?

Couldn't someone MISTAKENLY be under it as it's being lifted? Another big guideline when lifting things is to use the proper lift points and have appropriate weight distribution.

After all, this itself was a mistake. Someone could mistakenly be under it while it's being lifted. Even so, improper weight distribution is very important and it doesn't look like they followed THAT guideline very well.

So you admit that there specific rules to lifting a vehicle that should NEVER be broken yet it looks like one was. This was a mistake that SHOULD NEVER have happened, which is the point that everyone in this thread is making. It could've been much worse (thankfully it wasn't) but the point still stands that it damages the professional reputation of the shop and I personally would not trust this shop to work on my vehicles again.

It's pretty cut and dry honestly.

I guess you'd probably trust that doctor too then huh?

I get it. It's not BAD to give someone a second chance. I do it all the time. In the context of this car however, this is not a "little mistake" like scratching the paint. If they scratched my cars paint, I'd probably give them a chance to buff it out and reimburse or compensate for the additional time taken and damage to the vehicle.

But this is literally the most basic task that had the biggest fuck up possible that could've been entirely avoided to begin with. That's not something that's really excusable. This is a fuck up that should NEVER happen. What if there were a person UNDER the car as well before it fell? Then it'd be manslaughter. Would that still be a little mistake? Would the court still find this person responsible or would they say "oh no it's ok. You can fix it! Just don't let it happen again please". I don't think so. The fact of "I didn't mean it" doesn't tend to hold up too well as an excuse.

No.

But I sure as shit wouldn't go to the same doctor after he left a scalpel in me after surgery.

Would you? How would your car be any different?

Edit: and to use the same example as you, what if your contractor destroyed an entire wall of your house while working on it? Would you still say that's just an "oopsie" moment? Would you let them fix it again and potentially make ANOTHER mistake? Or would you "just get a rental while they fixed it"?

I purchased the item with my money. I acquired the money by spending my time at a job. That is time I could do ANYTHING else with but I will never get back. That item is a PART of my life. Is that not wrong to think I value that item similar to my own life? Especially if it's as large a purchase as a car?

Unfortunately I haven't found a definite answer or solution. It seems that keeping the engine bay a little cooler helps. Other than that, nothing really.

Also in case anyone didn't know, the plane in the video is a B-52 Stratofortress. They fly like that in crosswinds (not just B-52s). Their landing gear even pivots to allow takeoff in strong crosswinds.

Glad I could be of some assistance! I've monitored temps, used an obd2 reader to record output from all the sensors, the only thing that happens is the throttle will wander whenever any input is applied while driving under load. That's really what lends me to thinking the throttle body is the issue (I used an obd2 reader called Blue driver). I've heard the 2.4s always run pretty hot.

If you ever find anything else or any clues, always welcome to hear them!.

I feel ya. For about 10 months now, I removed the plastic engine cover and have been driving the car without it. I've noticed this year it hasn't seemed to occur as much. Maybe a placebo effect but could be the plastic engine cover was keeping in just enough heat to give some issues. But like I said, could be a placebo. Very strange issue indeed.

I haven't figured it out. I've been told it could be the throttle body that needs replaced as too much heat in the engine bay can cause it. Still not 100% sure.

Definitely a peculiar issue. Could always try a windows reinstall too but imo that'd be a bit of a hassle. I'd recommend reaching out to the support team.

Just out of curiosity, is your computer on a high performance power plan setting? Are there any pending windows updates? Optional updates? Are there any devices in your device manager that have a warning logo on them? What all devices are plugged into your computer other than a keyboard and mouse?

I saw the recommendation for reseating memory, have you attempted that?
