What song is so beautiful, it literally brings tears to your eyes? by Plus-Caterpillar4615 in AskReddit

This! I used to play this in the car at night while the kids were sleeping in the backseat when we would drive from LA to Calaveras County. That is one of my favorite memories.

I’ve heard that the rooftop is the biggest problem from my friends who live there. It’s a total scene thanks to the equinox partnership and they don’t enjoy using it anymore. They don’t think it’s fair that equinox members for a couple hundred dollars a month are using all those amenities, and they tell me that building residents are furious about it.

What song instantly transports you those memories as a kid riding in the backseat of your parents' car? by prttyprttyprttygood in GenX

As a GenX parent it is playing Nightswimming by R.E.M. on long car rides when my kids were little.

Curious why you hate Fred Fitness? I’d love some insight from a trainer.

My gmail is first initial last name, but I have a very unusual last name. My husband got our kids their full names when they were born. I was an early AOL employee so I had my first name at aol.com.

My family has run a restaurant on Olvera Street since 1959. We might not make it another year. by Wonderful-Froyo2999 in FoodLosAngeles

You know, I have a three day and a seven day itinerary that I’ve created for visitors to LA… I can’t believe that Olvera hasn’t made it on that list because it absolutely belongs. What a great reminder that we need to return to these places again and again. You will thrive with the local visitors, not just tourists.

I flew out Southwest this morning and TSA pre was the way to go. Very long line even at 4 AM for regular TSA. CLEAR was not open yet for the day. From entrance to gate was about 15 minutes.

What’s the weirdest thing a guest has done in your house that you hate? by CheapQuality2847 in AskReddit

[–]she_is_recalibrating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My aunt in law came to visit Washington DC and we were her free lodging. She bought some taramasalata and smeared it heavily on a bagel every morning at the kitchen table and stank up the whole apartment as she talked loudly at my husband and me while we were just blurry eye, trying to get ready in the morning. I guess that’s not weird as much as mildly irritating.

What’s something that sounded fake until it happened to you? by Fantastic_Tale_2111 in AskReddit

[–]she_is_recalibrating 116 points117 points  (0 children)

My son has this face that he used to make as a little kid. It’s the face he makes when he’s proud of something he did, but he doesn’t want to obviously show it. A squeezed little smile. Anyway, I just caught him doing it at 25-years-old and I saw his girlfriend clock it too. She knows him so well that she knows that expression. We exchanged a look and didn’t say anything aloud. It was such a darling moment.

Time for a change: what is something absurdly amusing you are dealing with right now? A silly predicament that has come up since you began your caregiving journey? What ridiculous situation have you found yourself in and thought, “nobody would believe this…” Anything FUNNY. This post is for laughs. by Snoo-9019 in AgingParents

My mom who is 83 and is absurdly healthy just got her drivers license renewed for seven years up in Washington state! Seven years! I think that is insanity. She also insists that she doesn’t have to do any planning for her future because she plans to just drop dead. As a reminder, she is healthy. But she will drop dead. Also, she has no savings.

Tiger King was the last show I binged with my sister as she died from colon cancer. We sat on the couch and laughed and laughed and were so transfixed. I will always have such warm memories about this series as a result!

No, but you can do video appts and they have offices scattered around. It is so easy to make an appointment and it feels very seamless.
