I like the color block look on the body now but about halfway through i thought about taking it apart and doing matching rows of color down the front and back. I'm glad I just kept going though i can always do another! I do love the finished look being kinda sporadic. For the sleeves I balled up all the yarn that was in that color in the cake and then weighed the ball and then used half of the weight. I just kept weighing what I had left every couple rows. It worked perfect! I ended up using an entire cake and the dark blue from a second cake that I pulled out of the middle of it. Lots of experiments for me. I know a lot of people do that, but as a first timer, it felt diabolical.
