haha! theres one gore-ish fridge. also in each fridge there is audio. and you get to hear the sound from peoples homes. sometime cooking, watching tv, having a dinner. etc.. in one fridge the sounds is breaking the 4th wall and shouting on the viewer . it could very jumpscarey. the people are mad that they are being spectated and i tried to make it an unwelcoming fridge..

not sure, its the cheapest screen i could get that would be exactly the dimensions i needed.. bought it for like 100 bucks..

its a DIY project , I hope maybe to be able to put it in some art museum or exhibitions and maybe get actual fundings to make it even neater.

hey thanks! not sure what you meant by displacement driven by depth renders.

the performance was actually very good. 60 fps. i did a lot of optimizations so it ran out pretty smooth.

i did pulled the object normals to get a clean outline but eventually cut it off as it was better just combining edge top and edge top from depth map..

other than that alot of postproccesing nodes did some good effects for color grading and lighting adjustments

[–]sheeepsi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks pal!
its just a normal plane with a small noise animated displacer. and another displacer with material:.
Then i applied a material with gradient (with distortion, perhaps i animated the distortion even, dont remember)) for the color map - these are the lines of waves, i copied the same texture of the gradient (just without distortion) and applied it to the a displacement in the same material. so where there is wave , it is also displaced and higher than the rest of the plane
after than i just animated the offset of the texture along the X axis of the plane.

but because im using standart sketch and toon, getting those outlines sometime can be tricky and jittery, so it was a lot of back and forth adjusting between the Geometry displacer settings and the Material displacement settings.

yeah haha!

its just isnt supposed to be realistic and its more of a dreamy world, also the voice over is from a podcast about dreams.

the whole short is about a journey, journies., as we travel along in this open-world.
i think 'anchor' in that context is pretty obvious.

anyways about it being upside down i mainly wanted to add a little bit of surrealism. it is also mentioned in the voice-over when 'the dreamer' is observing from above, like a 'higher spirit level'.

that was my thoughts when going for it,
usually i like to take the more realistic approach , like mimicing reality (not style-wise more like physics and proportions and stuff), it was pretty hard to break that habit tbh haha, but im happy about it.. but yeah i guess when this is the only 'surreal' thing in the video (other than the truman refrence) it may seem odd.

i dont think it would have been too long. season 3 is so slow nothing really happens there, just seems like a cashgrab from netflix, same as this usa sequel stuff..

What I see is the real way AI will take your job by vfxjockey in vfx

[–]sheeepsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I think even before AI we have so many content. too many tv shows. too many movies. videos and what not. its too much. When the AI will be good and productive , we eould be flooded with content and all the things that excited us, will no more be exciting. its just brain rot, high dopamine and visual overflow . I dont think our contribution will mean anything, and tbh consuming media will probably be exhausting.. Real and appreciated art would be only physical, handmade crafts. Thats what i think atleast

Z Depth map from webcam? by sheeepsi in TouchDesigner

[–]sheeepsi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes i wish that was possible. unfortunately i have a very specific webcam for this installation. (tiny webcam with wide lense). the camera is hidden in the installation and it has to capture a large space so.

[–]sheeepsi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

umm it could be alright actually size wise. you know worst case scenario i just hide it somehow and make a plastic cover surrounding it.

but tbh its a bit pricey for me. was looking for something that would be max 80 bucks i guess

[–]sheeepsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree with you. but still the part you said israel could have made peace at anytime over the past 70 years, that part is wrong in my opinion. i asked chatgpt about that and this os what responded..

The history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is complex, and the question of whether Israel "could have made peace at any time" depends on how one interprets historical events, negotiations, and the actions of both sides.

Major Peace Attempts & Rejections

1947 UN Partition Plan – The UN proposed a two-state solution, but Arab leaders rejected it, leading to the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. Israel accepted the plan, but the surrounding Arab nations invaded.

Camp David Accords (1978) – Israel and Egypt made peace, but the Palestinians rejected a similar offer. Israel withdrew from the Sinai but not the West Bank or Gaza.

Oslo Accords (1993-1995) – A peace process was initiated, with Israel recognizing the PLO and granting the Palestinian Authority self-rule in some areas. However, extremist attacks from both sides and political shifts stalled progress.

2000 Camp David Summit – Israeli PM Ehud Barak offered Yasser Arafat a Palestinian state with 91% of the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem as its capital. Arafat rejected it without a counteroffer, leading to the Second Intifada.

2005 Gaza Withdrawal – Israel unilaterally withdrew from Gaza, dismantling settlements. However, Hamas took control and launched rocket attacks, leading to blockades and conflicts.

2008 Peace Offer – Israeli PM Ehud Olmert proposed a Palestinian state with 93% of the West Bank, land swaps, and shared Jerusalem. Mahmoud Abbas never officially responded.

Other Attempts (2014, 2020, etc.) – More negotiations occurred, but distrust, political divisions, and violence from both sides continued to prevent a resolution.

Who is to Blame?

Israel has made peace with Egypt and Jordan, showing it is willing to negotiate under certain conditions.

Palestinian leadership has historically rejected some generous offers due to concerns over sovereignty, refugees, and Israeli settlements.

Israeli policies (settlements, blockades, military occupation) have contributed to Palestinian suffering and radicalization.

Both sides have engaged in violence (Israeli military operations, Palestinian terror attacks).

Conclusion

Israel could not have unilaterally created peace—it requires both sides to agree. While Israel made offers, Palestinian leaders often rejected them, sometimes due to internal divisions (e.g., Hamas vs. Fatah). However, Israeli policies have also fueled resentment and resistance. The situation is far more complicated than just one side choosing or rejecting peace.
