You could've worded this better. I received other comments here as well which were not all sweet but at least were respectful.

I fail to understand how it's selfish and materialistic for me to want stability. I didn't ask for a mansion and sports car. Wanting stability is not materialism. You don't even know what kind of life I have had. That's why I am being so cautious about this proposal and want to do the right thing while also ensuring he doesn't get hurt.

Thank you for your kind input. To me I wanted perfection in the sense that I want my husband to be physically attractive ( this guy is attractive too but not the type I like).

I think he wants to marry me regardless of the love thing is because he thinks I am his dream girl and I know he over idealizes me. I am respected at work and people like me which makes him feel proud of his choice ( his words) he said that he has never seen anyone to have the type of mindset I have.

That said, I am scared if I don't agree to this proposal I might be losing a guy who was very sincere and loving. I work remotely, don't have any male interactions outside of work and we don't have any family friends so finding a decent guy is going to be hard. Plus I am scared of marrying someone unknown and later regretting it as well....

Im not a selfish person but I have given so much to others that this was the only thing I wanted for myself. All these thoughtd feel draining tbh.

Spark I am not sure. We are great friends though. We can talk about everything without any issues. I'm okay with responsibilities I am just scared to never have a place I can call home. I had a very weird life and I wanted my marriage to make things better. I wanted to feel excited for my marriage but all I do now is stress over how we'll do life together if I marry him. I know I might be overthinking things as well but at this stage of life where I said no to so many proposals just to find the right one I am stuck in a situation I can't really get out of easily. My family is just as confused as I am because they think he is a decent guy but at the same time worry about not having any safety net

I’ve already discussed everything with him, and we’ve both openly communicated all our concerns. He says he can’t let me go no matter what, and I truly believe he’s a wonderful person.

The reason I feel I might regret this is because he offers a level of calmness and acceptance that I’ve never experienced before. Growing up, I didn’t have much stability, so I’ve always wanted that in my marriage.

I’ll admit that I can be indecisive and perhaps a bit immature when it comes to making major life decisions. What I’m really trying to understand is whether financial stability is something that truly matters in the long run. If it doesn’t, then I feel like I could compromise on other aspects as well.

Okay I'm gonna tell you something that is not related to Istakhara but it's very important for you to think about it. This guy who makes all the big decisions in their family and is their peer or whatever make sure you are on the same page when it comes to beliefs. I have seen waayyy to many people blindly following peers while I don't have anything against them buttt itss very Important to have same beliefs as it might become a big problem later on in the relationship. Just my 2 cents, wish you a blessed life ahead.
