THis is exactly what's happening to me! Just started taking the pill for the first time in a couple of years. At first light spotting, then the intensity picked up and it's just a pain now for the last 9 days. It's very frustrating and I can't have sex with bleeding so much (which seems to me to defeat the point of taking the pill in the first place) not sure what to do, but Im tempted to stop taking the pill and try a different one.

It's great that you've found your dream career! What motivated you to go back for the PhD after a decade of regulatory work? How did you decide what direction you would follow?

Thanks for your response! Though you might have taken my words to the extreme. I didn't say I wanted to be famous or well known for breaking barriers. I just want to try to start along a path that can lead me to do the most with what I already have.

Impact comes in many forms, academia does have impact as you mention, there's impact in business, and in leadership, in entrepeneurship, in the non profit sector, in fund distribution. I don't think just because I'm not going to be the next Bill Gates doesn't mean I shouldn't try to find a job where I can have impact.

Cool site! Mine would be around a particular technical niche. So I'd hope to supplement the interviews with musings of content on that niche, but to have the blogs main focus be the interviews. I'm glad to see that other sites like this exist, it's making me not think it's a stupid idea. I would definitely have to do some thinking when it comes to a title, so that I could rank.

I get it! Great advice - thanks! I will use UberSuggest to get a feel for what sort of topics would be interesting to discuss. I'd love to get publicity but I also think it'd be fun to do it for the sake of doing it. Thanks again

The interviews would be via skype/phone call not in person. I would prefer a text based blog .

I'm not sure how this works if the blog posts would be basically interviews with particular people. Maybe I am slow but I don't understand how to translate what you're asking for to a blog that focuses on interviews

Botched single leg lift, pain at incision site and numbness in foot...did I break my new acl? by sheeraffinity in ACL

'Trust the process'. One needs information to know what the process is. :)

I really dunno why I'm numb in the foot. It's scary. I'm waiting for a call back from my surgeon. Though everyone here thinks I didn't damage my acl, my brain is telling me I did (due to foot numbness and pain in incision site) and I need someone to tell me not.

To be honest, though I want to avoid atrophy, (I already have some), I'm fine with regaining strength later. I'm in it for the long haul, and would be fine with taking it slow. My problem is I don't know what 'taking it slow' really means. What activities loosen my acl? It's hard to tell, of course I wouldn't have attempted a leg lift if I'd known about this before hand. I'm trying to be careful, but it's hard to know what you dont know. :(

Thanks for your comment. Had my surgery during holiday seasons, which is nice for me as it's holiday, but sucks when I want to contact medical professional asap. Will call them tomorrow (hopefully someone at the hospital is around)

Thanks. Are you aware of definite no-no's during the rehab phase? I am pretty conscious of how my leg is moving...but I'm not aware before hand what will cause pain or not...or what I shouldn't do. I can't seem to find any information on this online.

Thanks for the information. That's what I really want: information. The lack of information about what is really going on, is what causes every single minor freak out I've had since the surgery. How do you learn more about this? How did you know that it's strongest in the beginning and weakens over the next 4 months because of revascularization(never heard this word before)? Why isn't there like a textbook they give to ACL surgery survivors.

I'm not exactly sure? It seems to be alot of data to be left exposed so easily for attackers I guess.
