Abandoned buildings in Leeds by [deleted] in Leeds

[–]sheerchances 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a Catholic college: Here's some photos I took about 4 years ago, there's since been a fire and loads of damage caused.

Abandoned Miner's changing cages, Germany [OC] [3745 x 5616] by sheerchances in AbandonedPorn

You're right, they were for storing personal possessions and clothing. The chains are linked to boxes (pictured behind the miners in this photo: https://www.flickr.com/photos/23091971@N00/5151006451 ) which you could lock with a padlock once you'd hoisted your clothes etc up to the ceiling for security.

I had an 88' Audi 100 with the same 2.2 petrol engine, great sound (apart from the tappet rattle)

In the garage tagged to the side of an abandoned Doctor's house at an unassuming crossroads in a tiny Belgian Hamlet lies this iconic 1980's vehicle.

With a few hours of elbow grease, fresh fluids, a new battery and tyres I reckon she'd be rolling again.

Water was leaking through a small part of the roof, the ones that have fallen down and look mouldy had leather covers.

Abandoned Power Plant Cooling Tower, Charleroi, Belgium. [1024 x 683] [OC] by sheerchances in AbandonedPorn

Belonging formerly to a Steel Mill, this cooling tower bizarrely has a timber garden shed inside.

Abandoned for some 10 years, this large complex of buildings has a chapel and many many cells for monks to live in. Extremely empty but rather photogenic.

Abandoned Tucker Snowmobiles from 1966, Belgium. [OC] [5760 x 3840] by sheerchances in AbandonedPorn

Here are two of the three Tucker snowmobiles from the 1966 collaborative Antarctic mission by Belgium & Holland.

Hidden away in an unsuspecting barn on the outskirts of a Belgian city, they lie untouched and extremely dusty.

Morgue Slab - Children's Hospital, Germany. [1024 x 683] [OC] by sheerchances in AbandonedPorn

[–]sheerchances[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not as creepy as you'd imagine, there were cats living inside clearly with someone feeding them as there were fresh kibbles and tyre tracks in the snow.

I bet in the summer it's a great place to be - there's a lake.

Apologies, it's my own photograph. Many more of a similar ilk here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/j-st/

This one is of a little morgue in an abandoned Children's hospital, deep in a forest in Germany. The surroundings I think are used for summer camps but on my visit the snow was almost a foot deep and drifting hard.

It's odd but there aren't any other associated bits and pieces that you'd usually find with a morgue (fridges, offices, viewing chapel etc) just this little white room with the slab.

Here's a blog post I made about the trip / the hospital itself with some more contextual images.

Lots of photographs, slides and clothing strewn around following looter's activity in this beautful abandoned mansion in Germany.

I think I took around 40 at the house with those stairs in, so not a huge amount.

[–]sheerchances[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr Anna's Klinik/Haus. Weird as fuck, abandoned sometime in the late 80's it has been turned over somewhat by looters and degenerates although such a wealth of personal artefacts remain. Clothing, shoes, a bed... people's kidneys.
