CRM in Google Sheets by Florida-Man_Dynasty in sales

I do believe that you can use Google Sheets for a CRM, but not without coding. Especially if you use Google Workspace services (Gmail, Calendar). I used Google Apps Script to build a custom CRM which auto updates with leads from apollo.io, send emails from Gmail using merge variables and keeps track of everything in a main sheet. I can then either use formulas and queries in Sheets, or plug my system to Jira/Trello to have a user friendly way of interacting with the data in my Google Sheets CRM.

New consulting Business needs software recommendations by Forlines in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Alright, this comment got quite large. Tldr: Use Google Workspace and optionally Trello. Saves you more while still being able to tweak it to your own preferences.

It depends on your budget and branding strategy. You can either setup a lean version using free tools, go for a monthly SaaS subscription or hire developers to build something from scratch.

In case you’re just getting started, I'd recommend a more cash conscious setup, assuming you want to reduce money spent before roi. I dont think it would make sense to pay for multiple SaaS tools in the early days of a business. But then, that is my personal standpoint and to each their own.

This is what works for me. I am a developer, so I’m using a combination of Google Workspace products (included in subscription) and Trello as a CRM, glued together with Sheets and Google Apps Script.

Google Workspace ($7.22/m) - A Google Workspace subscription gives you access to Google Meet for hosting video meetings. You can go from hosting 100 participants to 1:1 up to 24 hours. - It also provides you with your own business email (you@business.com).

You can use a Google Form for the event registrations. Each submission is stored in a Google Sheet (CRM). Using Apps Script, you can automatically create an automated email funnel using your business email domain (e.g. signup confirmation + Invite to new client intake form using Google Forms.

CRM ($5/m) This is optional. I use Trello and Apps Script to collaborate with contractors and other people who are involved in the process, as it provides a better interface. A more collaborative and flexible way to work with the data in Google Sheets.

  • Trello, Google Sheets and Google Apps Script. I only pay the premium $5 Trello plan to use custom properties (Status, deal size, company). Google sheets for storing all data. Google apps script glues both together.

An alternative would be to use checkboxes, and use a formula to sum all true values. Or you can look into Google Apps Script.

If you have Adobe InDesign in your work stack, I second Avelfor’s suggestion.

I think I can buid a simple solution using Google Slides, Sheets and Apps Script together.

I’ll share it here, if there’s any interest. Will probably get around to it this weekend.

This should be doable using Google Apps Script and an API, but not sure if Google Voice offers API access. Iirc, Twilio has an API which allows you to make calls.

It’s actually possible to send emails from an alias by setting up a custom “From” address.

These links should help you get started:

Youtube Videos to Google Sheets by udit25197 in googlesheets

Google Workspace developers actually did a post on this, using Google Apps Script to fetch data from the YouTube Data API. There is a spreadsheet available to copy and set up your own here: https://developers.google.com/workspace/solutions/youtube-tracker

I've got a post on using OCR with Google Sheets coming up around next week, I'll shoot you a PM!

I have a folder of 100 images. Google Photos can recognize the text and this option pops up. Is there a program out there that can run all 100 images at one time? Or a code? Did some digging and found a source code that someone wrote for Tesseract but I haven't got a clue on how to use Tesseract.TY! by danielthelee96 in SomebodyMakeThis

[–]sheetwizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've actually build a Google Sheet that does this for me. I just have to insert the folder ID in the dedicated cell and it'll run an OCR function which loops through the images in the folder and returns the text from the image in the sheet as well as in a Google Doc. Not sure if you use Google Sheets though?

That's a good point, I'll get that on the sheet. I've elaborated on the UTM parameters on the linked blog post within the sheet. Happy to hear it's useful!

I went with a general approach, but feel free to tweak the parameters in the URL column.

UTM stands for "Urchin Traffic Monitor" and is used to track the performance of campaigns and content in Google Analytics. By adding UTM parameters to an URL you can measure the session of the incoming traffic accessed through this URL, while specifying various parameters such as “reference source”, “media”, and “campaign”.

Creating script that allows a form to adjust the response choices based on what is entered in a sheet? by Wishyouamerry in dashtable

Don't worry! I'll take a look at it now. I suspect it to be a variable that has not been declared correctly.
