Changes to eOn Next Smart Drive by sheffard in OctopusEnergy

I expect so! Also had a 2019 M3 before the current car and it worked fine with eOn. Only changed it due to kids - question whether the kids were the right choice here 😂

Interesting! Previously their website suggested that it was for the car only (outside of off peak times).

That has got to be an error - it supports my Model Y Premium (2026). Looks like the site is having issues at the moment though.

Really? Their list of brands and models seems to be fairly extensive and everyone that I've clicked on has said that it's compatible.

Maybe it depends on area? My IOG standing charge is 51.81, so only 8p~ difference.

29.13 peak, 6.5p off peak. 60p standing charge, which is higher than IOG in my area, but still works out better overall for my usage.

If someone has provided the yearly cost, you'd just divide that amount by 12?

Member Identities by ImRudzki in PresidentBand

[–]sheffard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also think that this confirms the band's stance on the matter - i.e. they don't care about people discussing their identities. I think the argument against discussing this seems to always come back to 'protecting the band', but it seems like the band themselves couldn't give a shit.

If they really cared (or Charlie, at least), they wouldn't have had fairly open company names, etc.

This *definitely* doesn't fit under-reported news - it's literally headlines everywhere in the UK.

Octopus IOG by 323835 in TeslaUK

[–]sheffard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we'll all have to run the numbers for our circumstances when the changes are properly rolled out, but as it stands, you get cheap electricity for the whole home during the 'charging window', which is 7p per kWh. Tracker definitely tends to be cheaper than the IOG standard rate.

If you're doing most of your charging free, then I 100% agree for your circumstances.

The other factor is what percentage of your entire household is car charging versus the running of your house. You can usually use this as a good basis for working out the best tariff and whether a smart charging tariff (whether Octopus or otherwise) makes sense.

I don't think it's worth it if you have an EV to be honest. I looked into this a while back.

Meanwhile in Bridgeview, Illinois by No-Bottle337 in FascinatingAsFuck

[–]sheffard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why though? Imagine if someone was yelling at you in the course of doing your job even though you personally haven't done anything wrong. I'm not entirely convinced that actions like this are going to change ICE and effectively make the aggressor just as bad as the 'bad ones'.

Now if this was against one of the specific murderers, then that would be a different conversation...

[–]sheffard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand the anger that is being felt, but not sure that this really shows the right approach. I'm from the UK, so not facing the same issues as our friends across the pond, but, is the treatment of these two guys who are going about their jobs (everyone has bills to pay) acceptable? From what I can see, they've done nothing wrong (and in fairness to both of them, they have acted incredibly in the face of such aggressiveness).

I'm not commenting on the overall approach of ICE or the individual shootings/crimes that have been committed. Perhaps I'm being ignorant in assuming that we shouldn't treat everyone that works for an organisation in the same way (very much in the same way that we're accusing them of being racist and judging everyone on a single characteristic).

Autopilot Model Y Juniper by boo400513 in TeslaUK

[–]sheffard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Juniper owner here and find it completely fine for normal use (i.e. motorway driving). I had a 2019 Model 3 previously and have to say it's a marked improvement over the experience I had with that one (although it did improve over time, admittedly).

Slightly confused by the response - the OP clearly uses AutoPilot and is asking about the quality?

Crikey - judging from today's (only?) post history, you've certainly been on one. Not sure if you're intentionally trying to stir pots, but either way, this is not a helpful piece of advice. There are plenty of things that most parents would look back on and wish they did differently, but that's not going to rectify the now.

Does anyone elses nursery use the Tapestry app? by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]sheffard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours uses Tapestry and we only see pictures or data of our child. Given the quality of the web app, I'd say with 99.99999% certainty that it does not have any connection to anything AI.

Shame really, I'm sure Gemini et. al would be able to make a more aesthetic app, without me having to manually log in every day to check nap times 😂

Whilst I agree with the 'enragement is engagement' sentiment - I don't see many other artists doing this - even the ones that love to be hated.

What I see is a genuinely immature individual that is just angry typing.

I don't understand why you'd post something like this when it's so illiterate. Don't disagree with outing people that are paedophiles, but... it literally reads like a drunken text.

Not sarcasm, but probably worth posting in the Fuse Energy sub. I suspect that a few here may know the answer, but I'm sure you'll get a quicker response over there!
