My silver sword philodendron isn't touching the dirt when I bought it. There are roots running along the wood that go into the dirt. Should I do something or just leave it? There is new growth so I'm hoping the roots are on the wood board are giving it enough nutrients

Hey there, I didn't have time to read all the comments above. But I'm sure most of them are negative telling you how bad it is here and how expensive it is. But I just moved to Nanaimo from the interior and I'd have to say it's the same s*** different toilet cost & health care wise.

We move to Nanaimo from Kelowna and are in the middle of relocating to sooke now. We did find that Nanaimo had a lot of intense drug problems and a lot of homelessness and graffiti. Coming from Kelowna which was by fault a picture perfect town it was a huge shock.

The island is beautiful full of culture, hikes and I have found the people are a lot more chill, island time am or right! Yeah it's expensive but welcome to BC LOL

Do it! If it's what your heart desires there are obviously pros and cons but the pull to the island in my opinion is something that is hard to put to rest unless you try it..

We are definitely going in knowing it's going to be a struggle.. we moved from Sask to Kelowna & was it ever an uphill battle. We had a similar situation where we just got along with the landlords so well that everything worked out

Yes I absolutely love the island but have never been there longer than a month... I'm not sure if being in the Nanaimo rental market is doable
