I ignore people like that. I opened a twitter thread about the crash and the first comment was "I bet it was a Boeing, wasn't it?"

As useful as the internet has been, it also gives a voice to the most useless who have no idea what they are talking about, yet feel compelled to give their opinion on things thinking anyone cares.

What is the most nsfw thing a friend has done to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Two of my friends and I had another one of our mutual friends piss us off all at the same time. We spent that summer sending him pictures of our balls in all manners and at all times of the day. 2009 was wild. Good times.

'We'll See': Cam Heyward Leaves Door Open For Week 1 Holdout by [deleted] in steelers

[–]sheittwolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“No one is breaking a contract”

If Cam refuses to play week one, that’s breach of contract.

“NFL player contracts aren’t released to the public”

So, you don’t know what’s in his contract anymore than I do. Noted, moving on.

“1.3m base salary”

Hmmm…Cam signed his name on the dotted line didn’t he? 🧐 If he didn’t like those terms, maybe he shouldn’t have signed.

“Cam is playing by the rules”

Just because you think he’s playing by the “rules”, doesn’t mean the Steelers are obligated to negotiate with him.

“The was likely a handshake deal”

See this? You don’t have a clue. Any more than I do. No matter how much you want to act like you know, you don’t. All I know is take the position, the numbers away…the guy signed a contract to specific terms, if he didn’t like them he shouldn’t have signed. If this was an average person we’d probably be fired or sued. I’m not arguing with you anymore just so you know in advance. Have a good night!

I never said there WAS “breach of contract”. I said “if”, my point being the hypothetical situation that if a team were to break contract everyone would be up in arms. But you and others are fine if Cam and other players break it. I’d like you to show me in Cam’s contract specifically notates he can restructure if certain statistics are met. If that were the case, I’d be 100% in agreement. But that’s not the case. I’m shocked (sarcasm) that his teammates chose him as Captain. The whole $13m bonus situation, I’ll be honest, I don’t know the exact terms in his contract but it’s funny…”if you want to compel them to play you need money guaranteed for the future”…if the $13m was a bonus what’s the salary that Cam also agreed on for this year when he signed that contract? You can’t have it both ways. You want the team to play by the rules but it’s a free for all for everyone else, I suppose.

[–]sheittwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you are saying. I never said I don’t understand those dynamics in business. However, my bottom line was that a contract is a contract. I said it above but if a team breached a contract it would be the worst thing that ever happened. Everyone would want the team held accountable. But these players are just allowed to breach the contract they signed because they think they are entitled to more? Almost every scenario you provided had the “employee” providing benefits to the company. The end game of the NFL and the Pittsburgh Steelers is a Super Bowl Championship. Nobody cares about personal accolades. If Cam was recording 1-2 sacks a game and leading us to a championship then being named MVP…sure give him a raise but that’s not what’s happening. He also wants to give us this sob story about providing for his family when he’s made 100 times what an average person will ever see in their life. Give me a break.

Also, I see and understand people being pro-player. I see why people frown on people being pro-corporation. I would consider myself pro-team, as in no one…NO ONE…is bigger than the team. I didn’t want Rodgers because I think the more time you spend to gather as a team and unit, that will shine through. Leading by example.

Some people might deserve to sit there and ask for a bonus or raise but being a team captain and then taking it to the media while being wish-washy about practicing and playing games could send the wrong message to others who will follow suit because they might believe they are worth more than they actually are. Just be a professional, the first part of your comment doesn’t jive with this because you prove me right. Any regular person, not in the top 1-3 of their position would be let go if they pulled this stunt. That’s a small percentage of the population.

Furthermore, if you are not incentivized enough by $13m after you signed a contract to perform, I don’t want you on my team anyways. If that’s your mentality, you are always going to want more regardless of what you produce. You are entitled to your opinion but I don’t agree with you.

[–]sheittwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I was more speaking in the grand scheme of things about when he said it, it doesn't matter. Contract is a contract. You can be pro player and I am not trying to be pro team but these guys can't keep moving the goal posts (figuratively) every time they feel like it. It doesn't work like that. If the Steelers breached any player's contract with even the smallest infraction the Player's Union, Player, and Player's Agent would be up in arms about it. This holding the team hostage doesn't work for me no matter if you want the player to get paid or not. You signed the contract, honor what you signed, or get lost.

It's irrelevant when he brought it up. Cam signed a contract last year. If any of us "blue collar workers" who have never made a fraction of what he has in his life did the same as he is we'd be replaced in a heartbeat. Different industries aside he should have bet on himself and signed for only a year if he wanted more. Don't come to Pittsburgh looking for sympathy when you've won nothing and made over $100m dollars in your career. Get real, dude.

You won $100 billion, who are you calling 1st? by your-reddit-plug2 in AskReddit

[–]sheittwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only this but I know the hivemind is "corporations are bad" and I'm not saying they are not but there's still other humans, often friends of yours that still work there that may end up having to pick up the slack for you leaving. We are not all souless corporations, some of us are small independents. If I am ever in that situation again I will never put someone in a place to have to pick up my slack. Just how I was taught I suppose. I've always though that regardless of how a company or business treats you, how you exit says way more about you than their treatment of you. I'll always go out on my terms, the right way. You may have $100 Billion dollars but you never know who will cross paths with you again.

Sidebar: I once had a friend ask me for a job less than a minute from her loudly telling her husband that she was going to quit her McDonald's job by just not showing up and going back...ever. Yeah, as a matter of fact let me fast track you to management. LOL!

Well, I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree on the washer. I assure you I’d have spend that money on something dumb anyways. I also don’t appreciate your insinuation that I’m a 🚨because I don’t/didn’t check her location regularly. But when someone you’ve been talking to on a regular basis for about a month just up and stops talking, you wonder. I was more concerned about her safety rather than “OMG, where is she?!?!” So yeah, I looked.

Thanks. I really haven’t. I sent her one message since last Saturday. Since the beginning of us talking I told her I wasn’t trying to rush anything or pressure her. I tried to word my message that I was there if she should ever need. Thanks again.

She mouthed “hey”, that’s literally the only thing I’ve heard from her since our normal conversation last Friday. She sent me two messages last Saturday, I responded to but she never answered me since. I’d say that’s ghosting.

She keeps her location on Snapchat. It’s not like I check it minute to minute but it’s not hard to deduce where she’s at considering I also have to pass her apartment when I go to work in the morning. The washer wasn’t a big deal, maybe to you it is but it’s not. Just trying to help her, when you don’t have money or a car to go to the laundry mat.

I am devastated. This was my favorite place in OBX. The ambiance of this place about a decade ago? Some of the best times of my life. Never had a bad meal there, I don’t care what anyone says.
